Historia
Motherhood is a challenge. Unfortunately, our worldly culture offers moms little in the way of real help. Mamas only connect to celebrate surviving another day and to share in their misery, rather than rejoice in what God has done and to build each other up in hard times. There has a be a better way, a biblical way, for mamas to grow and thrive. M Is for Mama offers advice, encouragement, and scripturally sound strategies seasoned with a little bit of humor to help you embrace the challenge of biblical motherhood and raise your children with love and wisdom.

Such good older-mom-to-younger-mom-advice!
Revisado: 03-05-24
Since my own mother isn’t around anymore, a wise woman who raised eleven kids of her own before being taken from this world prematurely, I’m constantly looking for mentorship from other moms who have been around the block a few times, and this book really hit the spot! My one critique is that I wish she talked a little slower for my mom-brain to better comprehend, but that’s probably a personal preference. This book was such a blessing to me!!!

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Highly Recommend

Great storytelling, and the depth of the lore was superb! I felt on the edge of my seat for most of it, and for the few parts I thought more boring, I was very intrigued to see how they would tie in with the rest of the story. I’m usually able to predict how stories might unfold, but with this one, I was unable to foretell what would happen even once. Definitely purchasing the next installment right away!

Historia
We live in a 24/7 culture of endless productivity, workaholism, distraction, burnout, and anxiety-a way of life to which we've sadly grown accustomed. This tired system of "life" ultimately destroys our souls, our bodies, our relationships, our society, and the rest of God's creation. The whole world grows exhausted because humanity has forgotten to enter into God's rest. Combining creative storytelling, pastoral sensitivity, practical insight, and relevant academic research, Subversive Sabbath offers a unique invitation to personal Sabbath-keeping.

Super informative & gave me quite a lot to think about. My husband & I are currently trying to figure out what Sabbath means for us as a family. Didn’t agree with everything in this book, but there were a lot of good points that I’d never thought about before. Definitely recommend this book!

Jinger, along with three of her sisters, wrote a New York Times bestseller about their religious convictions. She believed this level of commitment would guarantee God's blessing, even though in private she felt constant fear that she wasn't measuring up to the high standards demanded of her.

Such a Godsend!
Revisado: 06-01-23
I grew up in a similar way to Jinger, big family (though only 12 kids), didn’t know how to interact with the world without them, southern Baptist, stuck in pride & legalism in so many ways, but there was *so* much hypocrisy behind closed doors. I’ve spent many years in my adulthood “disentangling,” as she calls it, and I have siblings who have walked away from God completely. This book has been so helpful to me, encouraging me along my journey, and best of all, pointing me to Christ.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who struggles with fear of doing or saying the wrong thing, sees God as angry or just waiting to punish them, or is in the process of deconstructing. This personal story has a rock-solid scriptural thesis as its foundation. Please listen with an open heart! You may be very glad you did.

Historia
In Donald Miller's early years, he was vaguely familiar with a distant God. But when he came to know Jesus Christ, he pursued the Christian life with great zeal. Within a few years he had a successful ministry that ultimately left him feeling empty, burned out, and, once again, far away from God. In this intimate, soul-searching account, Miller describes his remarkable journey back to a culturally relevant, infinitely loving God.

Controversial
Revisado: 06-18-20
This book is definitely counter-Christian-cultural, but it’s much needed, and gets to the heart of Jesus & the gospel!
