I must confess I was not expecting the ending lol
I adored the narration… the voice actress has such beautiful voice and an extensive range. I also, love stories where the Princess is not in distress !

The story was beautiful, though there was some sad moments… I’ve listen this book 3x by now since it’s release. The narrator, Jesse has such beautiful voice, I don’t know if it’s her voice that makes me tearing or it’s the combination of narration and the story itself. The entire series has very been good, in fact I wish the books were longer but Seanan has been writing so many books, I’m amazed how she manages all this and best of all, great books!

Recommend for those that enjoy The Odyssey, but want to focus Circe and other characters.

What an amazing story. Great for those that enjoy Greek Mythology with a bit of “enhancing” from the Author, specially since Circe’s story was only briefly told in The Odyssey. I was delighted to listen Circe’s origins entangled with so many Mythological characters. The Narrator with warm and velvety?voice was so soothing, though never boring. By now I’ve heard this audiobook at least 4x times and still to listen again.

I loved the first previous book by the author. It follow very closed to the Original Norse Mythology but given some extra liberties bring that was a book on the view point of Loki, not usually as Thor or Odin. I truly enjoyed. It was interesting that the author chose to give sort of nicknames for names that most people would have hard time to remember or to pronounce. Ok loved first book. Went ahead and got second book right after ... so,let me tell you that the Norse Mythology though did not end at the first book to me it did. The second book its the traditional YA book authors will take any Mythology, Fairytale or Theme and turn into teen 16 -17 girl base material. Don’t get me wrong I have lots of YA w teen heroine books but honestly Im choose when come to those cause I just don’t have patience with most teen drama. I also enjoy Most Rick Riordan books with Mythological theme so I can take authors taking liberties with gods and myth creatures. However personally I just didn’t enjoy Loki interactions with the main character. I didn’t buy his way too modern vocabulary though he clearly didn’t know anything about our technology, culture and mannerisms he seemed way too comfortable. Then later out of the blue we find out heroine is also into girls though (Im actually gay myself, so Im not against gay characters at all) only because Loki kind moves on into a girl and you have even gone into the next base but the story moves into a next plot. Then after Loki “open her mind” she decided that she was interested into getting to know the girl and go on a date. Again I don’t like how the author moved the story into another path. I did enjoy the interactions among the gods but that’s constantly been pestered by the “teen characters”. Last the little bits of the Norse realm also happens in a video game based upon Asgard and its inhabitants. After such great Mythological first book this second one felt cheap, like the author didn’t have more inspiration to continue after Ragnarok so she went after the overdone YA 16 years old girl and its teen drama. I wish she had move on to a Greek, Egyptian or Celtic Mythological story. I hope I can return this book, though I ll keep the first book, the story was completed and should have been left at that.

Do little kids use the kind of vocabulary the little boy in the book does?

To begin a love the concept of the book. The narrator was pleasant to hear, which is in itself a big plus. I liked the main character a lot , but the little boy really annoyed me. He speaks like an adult! Perhaps if the little boy had a more child like voice? Instead to my ears it comes across a precocious teen. So every single time he spoke a bored genius child I wanted to forward... lol .. I probably would just skip his sentences if I could but I was afraid to loose the context of the story. But other than that I loved the book!

2017 to me was a sort of dramatic soap opera and this book emphasizes it well. My partner and I had good laughs listening while on a long road trip. Who knows if all is true, perhaps somethings got embellished but just by what we see on the news and rumors around DC sounds like very close to truth. The narrator did an excellent job. Altogether the book is a lot more interesting and fun. I’d say I wish the book didn’t revolve so much around Bannon, but maybe he was the most important source, so given credit for what was due. I just wish the book was longer.

I must confess I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this book! Both narrators did an excellent job and though that alone may give reason to listen to a mediocre story , this is not the case here., even so the plot wasn’t something new. I was amazed how the tale of creatures such as spiders were fleshed and turned into such compelling characters. In fact mostly I was cheering for the spiders ! Very fun sci-fi book.

I'm gonna say I was curious about this book for some reason I dislike this book from the beginning. which in a way it's so odd since I've become real fond of Luke Daniels' voice. I have given a try to several books that he narrates and kept many. Plague of Giants sadly is not a book I intend to keep nor continue reading. I don't know , to be honest I barely made into the second chapter and I had to stop. The female narrator just made de story seem like words mumbled without meaning. The book lacked some appealing from the very beginning maybe it's the style it has a D&D feel and I seldom like those books.
Sorry but I'm returning this book for my credit back.

There aren’t that many audiobooks on Mythology and those found tend to be about Greek Mythology, which don’t get me wrong, I adore!
Anyways, This book would be good from kids to adults... the author purposely let sexual mentions so light that I believe one would be more worried about the few violent acts described there were few but kept. I’ m a fanatic about Mythology so I can say again the book is light as can be to at least faithful to the stories otherwise one better watch Disney Hercules which is mangled and distorted to become Disney approved. Again back to the book, though short I loved that it was written as a series of stories in a timeline frame instead of randomly selected. The list of gods and goddesses aren’t very long but I would assume that audiobook versions at times lack the visual content that such books would otherwise provide such as images and table contents with list and information . However I should say in the audiobook defense many gods were given such info at the end of the book.
Hope this review gives you an idea about the book without revealing too much.
