Historia
Cristina and Clement Trudeau have conjured the impossible: justice. They took back their family’s stolen throne to lead New Orleans’ magical community into the brighter future they all deserve. But when Cris and Clem restored their family power, Valentina Savant lost everything. Her beloved grandparents are gone and her sovereignty has been revoked—she will never be Queen. Unless, of course, someone dethrones the Trudeaus again. And lucky for her, she’s not the only one trying to take them down.

AMAZING FOLLOW UP
Revisado: 05-01-24
Wow I did not think that the second book would be in the same realm that the first one was but man was I wrong. This book series is simply incredible. The characters are so fleshed out, the plot is so intriguing. And for a fictional story this book sadly is very very relatable given our current climate. This book was so so good. I cannot wait to read the follow up.

HE DID IT AGAIN.!
Revisado: 02-02-24
Let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved "Black Queen" so when I found out Mr. Emill was coming out with a new book I immediately hit preorder. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book. Sometimes when an author writes a second book it's never as good as the first. But let me tell you Mr. Emill is not one of those authors. This book had me from the very first line. I couldn't stop reading it. No spoilers here but Mr. Emill knows how to write plot twists. I couldn't have guessed what happened in this book even if I wanted to. This book was such a entertaining read. I was intrigued, then sad, then mad, then beyond pissed off. It was such an excellent way to start my year.

Historia
Adina Walker has known this the entire time she’s been on scholarship at the prestigious Edgewater Academy—a school for the rich (and mostly white) upper class of New England. It’s why she works so hard to be perfect and above reproach, no matter what she must force beneath the surface. Even one slip can cost you everything.

So much fun.!
Revisado: 08-13-23
This book was truly such a fun read. I went into not with no expectations although I will say that I was hoping to love it. And much to my satisfaction I did love it. This book was such a fun adventure. I was so invested in the main characters journey, so invested in all of the games and very very invested in the love story that started to brew. This book was fun and intense and I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope based on the ending that this story isn't going to end here but if it does I definitely will be tuning in to read it one more time.

Historia
Sadie Montgomery never saw what was coming . . . Literally! One minute she’s celebrating the biggest achievement of her life—placing as a finalist in the North American Portrait Society competition—the next she’s lying in a hospital bed diagnosed with a “probably temporary” condition known as face blindness. She can see, but every face she looks at is now a jumbled puzzle of disconnected features. Imagine trying to read a book upside down and in another language. This is Sadie’s new reality.

I don't know what it is about Katherine Center. She just knows how to write such beautiful stories. I've adored every single book I've read by her and this book is no stranger to my adoration. I LOVED the plot of this book. It was so unique and so unexpected and just so wonderful. I LOVED the characters in this book. Sadie was such a breath of fresh air. I LOVED the romance in this book. It was so sweet and unique and so so unexpected. This book was like a big hug that I didn't realize I needed. God I just loved this book and I love Katherine center.

Historia
Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it. So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: work hard, find someone decent to love, and try to remember to chase the moon. The last one is silly and obviously metaphorical, but her aunt always told her that you needed at least one big dream to keep going. And for the last year, that plan has gone off without a hitch. Mostly. The love part is hard because she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone—she isn’t sure her heart can take it.

Historia
Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars: same year at Yale, same debut year in publishing. But Athena’s a cross-genre literary darling, and June didn’t even get a paperback release. Nobody wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers to the British and French war efforts during World War I.

Slow burn
Revisado: 06-04-23
This book was definitely a slow burn. I wasn't sure how I felt about this book until I got to the end. I wish the story had a reached this same conclusion way way sooner. But still I did enjoy reading this book and now that I know what's coming maybe I would enjoy it even better the second time around.

Historia
Emma Carpenter lives in isolation with her golden retriever Laika, house-sitting an old beachfront home on the rainy Washington coast. Her only human contact is her enigmatic old neighbor, Deek, and (via text) the house’s owner, Jules. One day, she reads a poorly written—but gruesome—horror novel by the author H. G. Kane, and posts a one-star review that drags her into an online argument with none other than the author himself. Soon after, disturbing incidents start to occur at night.

SHEESH
Revisado: 05-04-23
Wowza. This book put me through the ringer in the best way possible. I was on the edge of my seat from the second our main character Emma one starred a really crappy book. This book is the first book I have read by this author and I must say I am thoroughly impressed. Wow. I definitely plan on picking up any novels she writes in the future.

SO UNEXPECTED.!
Revisado: 04-28-23
I knew when I read the synopsis of this book that I was going to enjoy it. What I didn't expect was that I would not only love it but that its also probably one of my favorite books of this year. This book caught me by surprise. It had a beautiful love story between a mother in her daughter in the past and the future. It also had a very unexpected love story that I was extremely excited to see unfold. This book was like a love letter to families, and a love letter to your past and future self. I can't believe this is a debut novel. Well freakin done Maurene Goo. I have never laughed and cried so many times in my life.

What in the hell...
Revisado: 03-10-23
This book was wild.! The plot made this book sound so simple but it was FAR from it. I still have no idea wtf was real and what was in the main characters imagination. When you're dealing with an unreliable narrator it become very frustrating because you don't get a clear answer as to what's happening. But I do feel like this book was so well written and I was definitely intrigued from the beginning to the end of this book.
