Historia
Being a CEO at any of the world’s largest companies is among the most challenging roles in business. Billions, and even trillions, are at stake—and the fates of tens of thousands of employees often hang in the balance. Yet, even when “can’t miss” high-achievers win the top job, very few excel. For those who shoulder the burden of being the one on whom everyone counts, a manual for excellence is sorely needed. To identify the 21st century’s best CEOs, the authors of CEO Excellence started with a pool of over 2,400 public company CEOs.

Good content-poor narration
Revisado: 08-23-24
This is a solid book with well researched content. However, the narrator Has a very odd speaking style. She over pronounces words and says certain words and very uncommon ways. The narration distracts from the quality of what is otherwise a great book recommend buying the book versus listening to it on audible.

QCis not good- needs to be edited
Revisado: 12-15-23
Clearly no one did any quality control of the book performance. There are numerous repeated passages and even an entire section was repeated. On top of the repeated sections, the rhythm of the speech is odd and unnatural at times. It was like pieces of the book were edited to together and where there should be pauses or stops in the natural reading of the book were left out. It is too bad there is some great content. Just needs to be re-recorded or edited. Frankly I am disappointed that Verne would let this be sold in this condition.

Really off the mark
Revisado: 02-19-23
This content is like a terrible old school meme. The philosophy of the author and his points about interaction and self image are really off the mark. Not respecting your prospects time and trying to prove your worth above being relatable and human is just plain bad advice. I would avoid this book and look for something science and research based and not from someone who has 1990s mentalities to sales.

Great book, terrible narration
Revisado: 02-19-23
There is some great content in the book. It is hard to listen to the narration. Think he is trying to hard to sound conversational. The book would be improved a lot with a professional narrator.

Historia
A business's overall strategy may be set at board level, but many people throughout the organisation will be involved in deciding that strategy and implementing it - making decisions that are strategic in nature. On these decisions hangs the future of the business: how successful it is, even whether it is successful. Yet business history is full of strategic decisions, both big and small, that were weak, poorly conceived and consequently disastrous.

Leaders already know that innovation calls for a different set of activities, skills, methods, metrics, mind-sets, and leadership approaches. And it is well understood that creating a new business and optimizing an already existing one are two fundamentally different management challenges. The real problem for leaders is doing both simultaneously. How do you meet the performance requirements of the existing business-one that is still thriving-while dramatically reinventing it?

Way longer than it needs to be
Revisado: 11-20-21
This book clearly has some great content, great stores and some key themes. That said, the book probably could be summarized in a few chapters. It isn’t enough relevant content for an entire book. It seems like they go into more detail in some of the stories just to fill up pages of the book, versus really thinking about what parts of the stories are really relevant to the point the author is making. This book could be edited and improved dramatically.

Historia
The Human Element is for anyone who wants to introduce a new idea or innovation into the world. Most marketers, innovators, executives, and activists operate on a deep assumption. It is the belief that the best way to convince people to embrace a new idea is to heighten the appeal of the idea itself.

Great content- Terrible Narration
Revisado: 11-20-21
I was really excited to get this title. There is clearly some great content and great stories in the book. That said, the narration is absolutely terrible. Not sure how they picked this individual to record the book. His style and tone are distracting. I wish they had picked someone better to read the book. Unfortunately, I am returning and going to get the paperback copy.
