Historia
The Barnes family is in trouble. Dickie’s once-lucrative car business is going under—but Dickie is spending his days in the woods, building an apocalypse-proof bunker with a renegade handyman. His wife, Imelda, is selling off her jewelry on eBay and half-heartedly dodging the attention of fast-talking cattle farmer Big Mike, while their teenage daughter, Cass, formerly top of her class, seems determined to binge drink her way through her final exams. As for twelve-year-old PJ, he’s on the brink of running away.

High investment, low return
Revisado: 03-06-25
Spent hours and hours with an entire group of characters that had not one positive interaction. Add to the depressing characters an ending that told you nothing and you really would have rather not invested the time. First and last Paul Murray book for me.

Historia
Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

Bring back George
Revisado: 11-11-23
No offense to Steven Weber but this sounded like a high school production of a Mitch Rapp novel. There was absolutely no edge to Mitch's voice at any time. The story was solid and it is great to see Mitch contemplate what he wants his future to be. The narration much like the attempts by Schultz, Brick and others do not do Mitch justice. George Guidall is the voice of Mitch Rapp. I hope we get another story but please get George back, otherwise will probably buy the book and read it to myself while channeling George.

Solid Story, great narrator
Revisado: 11-11-23
Enjoyed listening to Ray Carney move through his life but the reader is the star. Just a cool voice that moves you through the challenges of Ray's life trying to move away from the crime life that keeps him close to the action.

Historia
The country is reeling. For the sixth time in American history, the winner of the popular vote will not occupy the Oval Office. President Malcolm MacLeod, the Machiavellian incumbent, was spared from impeachment only because his political foes were certain they would oust him at the ballot box. Now, he appears to have secured a second term, thanks to a narrow victory in the Electoral College.

couldn't wait for it to end
Revisado: 04-28-23
Struggled to stay engaged as the story never got interesting, just continued drinking and shooting with not much insight into any of the characters. The reader sounded like he was reading a book from the 1920s, but that may just be the way it was written. Chris Collins only redeeming quality is that he brings you an even greater appreciation for characters like Mitch Rapp, Scot Horvath or the Grayman. Will not even try the second installment.

Revisado: 10-24-22
Enjoy this genre and would not miss a Mitch Rapp or Scott Harvath book but the story here was ok but none of the characters brought any connection, especially the team leader. Maybe there will be more in the following novels but not sure how many I will listen to to find out.

Historia
In this searing memoir, Congressman Jamie Raskin tells the story of the forty-five days at the start of 2021 that permanently changed his life—and his family’s—as he confronted the painful loss of his son to suicide, lived through the violent insurrection in our nation’s Capitol, and led the impeachment effort to hold President Trump accountable for inciting the political violence.

Too much repetition
Revisado: 03-09-22
I feel for the author and his loss, Tommy appeared to be a wonderful young man. The rest of the story was rerun two or three times in the book and the limitless praising of everyone on the team or the lists of people or relatives repeated again and again was overkill. I appreciate Representative Raskin taking on our fearless Liar.

One of the weakest stories I have listened to on Audible, the prose has it be difficult for the readers to stomach. Sped it up just to finish sooner.

Revisado: 04-13-21
This is the second book in the series that I have listened to and I think I’m done. The main character is not likable and the stories aren’t as intriguing as other series. Scott Brick was solid but I’d rather listen to Grayman, Mitch Rapp, Scott Harvarth, Dewey Andreas or even James Reese.
