This story went political. The first book was about a teenager with ADHD finding himself and this book jumped to BLM and defunding the police. You can definitely tell when this was written.

The only introduction we had was a new bodyguard started his first day protecting a man child……and then they are running for their lives. And I just couldn’t listen anymore to a grown man giggling and skipping. The author probably thought this should his innocence but I just kept wondering how old this guy is supposed to be. I only got 2 hours in before I had to shut it off.

Even if it’s not politically correct to say so anymore, everyone still knows that alphas and omegas are ruled by their biology. Sure, it’s the 21st century now and most people have given up believing in archaic ideas like fated mates, but just take a look at college drop out rates and you’ll see that some things haven’t changed at all. Alphas still dominate, omegas still submit, and horny college kids in heat let their hormones dictate poor choices every day. Not me and my roommates, though. Not if I have anything to say about it.

Who is Royce really in a relationship with?

Am I the only one who was bothered by one of the MC running off to play house with his dead best friends wife? He’s suppose to be in a relationship but he steps in as a new “father” to three kids and a new “husband” to a widow. And this situation is never addressed as problematic, everyone just accepts it. Sorry, but if I had a partner who had a “family,” they wouldn’t be my partner anymore.
The first book was better and I’m debating on getting the third. I don’t like cheating even if it’s emotional cheating. When Royce stepped in to play daddy, I expected some conflict about it in the first book. But here we are in the second book and he’s still doing it.
The plot was just okay,

excellent story, annoying narration and awful sing

I didn’t finish the book

I had to stop listening when the main character was described as strong and having spunk. Really!? The only thing I saw her as was a needy crybaby. When she found out that Dank was going to be gone a couple of days she reacted just like a five year old would when a parent leaves. I can’t handle when everyone babies here and she does nothing to help herself. And then when the voodoo storyline came into play, I had a hard time not rolling my eyes. That came out of left field and while the story was unbelievable before, it became stupid after that.
I did listen to the first book in this series and was unsure if I wanted to continue. The only reason I decided to start book 2 is because it was included in the plus catalog. Thank goodness I didn’t pay money for this.
