Historia
In 12 fiercely funny, mind-expanding chapters, Dawkins explains how the natural world arose without a designer - the improbability and beauty of the "bottom-up programming" that engineers an embryo or a flock of starlings - and challenges head-on some of the most basic assumptions made by the world’s religions: Do you believe in God? Which one? Is the Bible a "Good Book"? Is adhering to a religion necessary, or even likely, to make people good to one another? Outgrowing God is a concise, provocative guide to thinking for yourself.

WOW
Revisado: 11-21-19
As an X evangelical having always heard Richard Dawkins being quoted and miss quoted In negative ways to support particular theories resulted In negative feelings towards both Richard as well as atheists in general.
After listening to this book without my evangelical spectacles I have gained much respect for both Richard and Atheism.
I will say no more for now as I’m still floating in mid air

Historia
In The Story of Christianity, Vol. 1, Justo L. González, author of the highly praised three-volume History of Christian Thought, presents a narrative history of Christianity from the early church to the dawn of the Protestant reformation. From Jesus' faithful apostles to the early reformist John Wycliffe, González skillfully traces core theological issues and developments within the various traditions of the church, including major events outside of Europe, such as the Spanish and Portuguese conquest of the New World.

Historia
As the Church has become increasingly entangled in the pursuit of politics, the Gospel has become tarnished and often abandoned as the primary focus of the Body of Christ. Jesus Untangled is a prophetic call for the Church to awaken from the "American Dream" and to return to her first love. Because, as the author powerfully demonstrates, you can't convert a culture that has already converted you.

best books I've read regarding faith and politics
Revisado: 05-16-17
When I first encountered Christ He introduced me to a whole new world and mindset, I was deeply affected by His love and mercy.
Yet as I turned my gaze back to the world I know all too well but now with a brand new perspective.
I naturally sought out other believers in Christ for support, while I was very encouraged and to this day still continue to be encouraged by these same fellow believers, I also faced much confusion as well.
Not necessarily from the people still of this world, but from Brothers and sisters entangled in this world system.
Don't misunderstand, we all are entangled, I'm very entangled.
All of us in Christ are in our own journey towards a better understanding as we are being aligned with our teacher and Lord Jesus Christ.
I feel as Paul declares in Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Keith Giles in his book Jesus untangled makes a very strong case for the roll the life of a Zitizen and ambassador of Heaven should play in this world to better resemble the qualities of our future Homeland.
While reading this book you don't have to agree with all of Keith's conclusions to be able to see a vast difference between Westernized Christianity and Christ.
this is one of those must read books for everyone in Christ, you will be challenged and enlightened by this book, my challenge to you is, search the scriptures as you listen and follow along

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

take a look at Jesus outside the box
Revisado: 01-21-17
Gandi once said
I like their Christ, but I don't like their Christian, your Christians are so unlike your christ.
this is an indictment on all brothers and sisters in the Faith
from personal experience I have learned that it is impossible for me to perfectly imitate Christ, not even the most devout Christian lacks some form of missrepresentation in his or her life.
getting to know the Christian in the company of Christ is enevetable, so also is transformation.
the Christian is not Jesus and Jesus is not the Christian

Historia
In this compelling work, authors Leonard Sweet and Frank Viola reclaim the entire Bible as a gripping narrative about Jesus Christ. Virtually every other “Jesus biography” begins with the nativity account in Bethlehem. In this groundbreaking book, Sweet and Viola begin before time, in the Triune God, and tell the complete interconnected story of Jesus from Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus
Revisado: 02-29-16
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is searching for Jesus using the old and New Testament and wants to know Jesus better.
I love the way this book points out that Jesus did not merely come into existence at the nativity scene but was always a part of the Godhead.
God gave humanity dominion over all the earth and creation for their care.
Humanity however changed elegance from God to His enemy thereby forfeiting our God given rights to the enemy.
Jesus left His Devine prerogatives behind and came to earth in the form of His own creation made in His likeness and took on the same limitations and fought the enemy as a man resisting the temptation to draw from His Devine powers and took back what belongs to God.
