Really enjoyed this book!
Revisado: 05-01-18
This is the first book I have read by this author. Although the story had its moments where it was quite dark, it was told in such a way that it added to the overall story. The narrator was good too! I can't wait to read the next book!

I enjoyed this book overall!

I liked the different take on the mystery (Joe writing a biography on a convicted murder). It had a good story and was well written. I think the narrator did a really good job too

Good story well written and narrated

This is my second book by Burton. I enjoy the story she tells and her style of writing. Although somewhat predictable it was still worthy of a credit and my time.

Way too Predictable!
Revisado: 03-26-18
I have only recently tried Nora Roberts books and fell in love! I have read maybe 3 of them and couldn't wait to read The Liar! However, I have to say I was really disappointed. I almost stopped reading it a couple times but continued because I was too busy to sit and figure out which one I should read instead. The ending was so predictable, and how Nora got there, in my opinion, was uninteresting. I will say it was very well wrote and maybe for some the book will be a great read. Wasn't my favorite.

Historia
It's 1864 in downtrodden Lowell, Massachusetts. The Civil War has taken its toll on the town - leaving the economy in ruin and its women in dire straits. That is, until Asa Mercer arrives on a peculiar, but providential, errand: he seeks high-minded women who can exert an elevating influence in Seattle, where there are ten men for every woman. Mail-order brides, yes, but of a certain caliber.

I really enjoyed the story.

The narration was fantastic and the characters were great. Although Sophronia's righteous attitude and judgement drove me crazy at times, I do understand the role the character played in the book. It was an easy listen and quite enjoyable.

Well written but a bit too predictable.
Revisado: 02-18-18
Although I enjoyed the book, I found it very predictable. Normally the music that accompanies certain parts in audio book adds you the story, but not here! I found it too loud and annoying.

Although I thought the book was very well written, I disliked the ending. I think what Rebecca did was a huge no no on every level! Otherwise it moved at a good pace and kept my attention. a solid 4.5 ☆

Where does Behind Her Eyes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was certainly a very memorable book. I had a hard time putting it down.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Behind Her Eyes?
Without a doubt, the surprise ending. Did not see that coming at all!
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I do not believe I have heard other performances by these narrators. They did a great job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Shock and awe over the ending.
Any additional comments?
Really enjoyed the entire book!

This is a hard book to rate!
Revisado: 12-28-17
Oh boy, I am not sure how to rate this one. I really wanted to love this book and certainly can't deny that this is one brave and inspiring young lady!
However, I found the book to be all over the place and the introduction of so many characters really confusing and difficult to follow. Not only are there so many characters, but because their names are so unfamiliar (very long and hard to pronounce), each time she mentioned a person I couldn't remember who she was talking about, if this was a new character or even a place.
The times it dives into the political side of things is where I got the most confused and had the hardest time following the narrative. As the book gets into more of Malala's childhood years and the shooting the story is easier to follow. At times it felt like someone else jumped in and started talking, like they had to give their two cents worth which had no relevance to the story. I think better editing could have easily solved this issue.
There is no doubt Malala is very inspiring, I think she obtained some wonderful personality traits from her loving & supportive father. She is so brave, I doubt I would have the same courage if I were in her shoes!
The narration was clear and Archie has a very soothing voice, no one, else could have told it as well.
With all that said, I am right back at how to rate this book???
Performance by Archie = ☆☆☆☆☆
Story =☆☆☆
Overall = ☆☆☆
I think even with the flaws it was a good book to get inspired by!
