Funny, entertaining and educational
Revisado: 06-14-23
I really enjoyed this book. The author is very engaging and funny. It is definitely not a Fitness prescription book but it does give great information about health and fitness as well as the bunks many of the myths about diet and fitness. Also pokes a lot of holes in the lies that are foisted upon us by people looking to make it back from a supplement, an exercise gadget, or a diet. By the end of the book I felt like I had a new friend. I’d actually very much like it if he put out a prescriptive book on how to exercise.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Historia
For more than 30 years, Fred Rogers was a beloved fixture in American homes. Warm and welcoming, he spoke directly to children - and their parents - about the marvels of the world, the things that worried them, and above all, the importance of being themselves. Dressed in his cardigan and sneakers, Fred Rogers offered a wholesome message of generosity and love that changed the landscape of television and shaped a generation of children. Kindness and Wonder pays tribute to this cultural icon: the unique, gentle man who embodied the best of what we could be.

Interesting and thought-provoking book
Revisado: 10-21-15
I have a family member and friend lost 30 pounds each using Dr. Fuhrman's advice in this book. I decided to give it a try and started by reading the book. The book is full of wisdom and what seems to be very sensible advice. I have started on the diet recommended by the doctor and I'm excited to open up a new chapter of good health and longevity and my life. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning best eating practices and living a long and healthy life. And also to anyone experiencing diabetes or other serious health issues should immediately read this book and consider all of its contents.

Historia
Princess describes the life of Princess Sultana Al Sa'ud, a princess in the royal house of Saudi Arabia. Hidden behind her black veil, she is a prisoner, jailed by her father, her husband, and her country. Sultana tells of appalling oppressions, everyday occurrences that in any other culture would be seen as shocking human rights violations: 13-year-old girls forced to marry men five times their age; young women killed by drowning, stoning, or isolation in the "women's room". Princess is a testimony to a woman of indomitable spirit and courage.

A moving and interesting story of one woman's life
Revisado: 07-02-15
I found the story of princess whole town is life interesting, fascinating and horrific. Listening to her plight and that of the women in Saudi Arabia caused me to appreciate our freedom here in the United States and how fragile freedom can be against fanatics and bullies. We have our own fanatics and Belize attempting to take hold in United States to suppress discussion and expression of any idea they don't like. This book and serve as a reminder how fragile freedom is and how Portland is that everyone gets to speak their mind even if it's not popular. As for the women of the Middle East the treatment they receive from their men and government is truly barbaric, backward and Medievil. Someday I'm sure they will face the wrath of the general populace and their women that they suppress so harshly. Maybe by some miracle they will wake up and begin to treat people as valuable and invested with human rights but I'm sure there'll be a fierce struggle rather than an intellectual acceptance of that truth. I do highly recommend this book as an insight into what society can be at the values are worked and twisted and why we should be involved with encouraging change and growth in the Middle East another backwards areas.

Basic, Unoriginal, Uninspired
Revisado: 05-19-15
I think this author reviewed a dozen YouTube videos notes and then made a very basic fuck out of his notes. This book had no original thinking, no clever insights, and instead seemed to be a regurgitation of Basic points from other works. The author for her to at least a dozen YouTube videos as points of reference and I would bet he reviewed those then made this book. Thankfully this us a short book but my advice is not to waste your time on this book and instead buy a different book.

Great info - a bit repetativr
Revisado: 05-18-15
I really enjoyed the information. The doctor seems to know what he's talking about and he is very specific with the support for what he is saying. I'm not a doctor or medical researcher though and I would've preferred more of a "bottom line" approach where he would have given his advice rather than spending a lot of time on theory and proofs. Once I decided to believe the doctor because he was credible I just didn't need all of the additional details. That being said I think he was very thorough and the book is extremely valuable. I'm going to follow the diet advice which is probably the highest compliment I could give to the author.
