I loved this series more and more with each book and Kingdom of Ash was an exceptional ending. I found myself laughing, crying, hoping and dreaming all in this book.
As the book went along I kept thinking what an exceptional feat of writing this was. I am actually going to purchase the physical books as well now.
The way that the author weaves in all the details from book 1 until now. And from what I understand other series as well, which I will be starting on next.
I love seeing a strong female lead character that doesn't need to be rescued. Her male companions were equally skilled but she didn't have to rely on them, she was enough on her own!

I am a big Anita Blake fan and will go through the series when a new book is released. The Kimberly Alexis books are fantastic, but how you can have a different narrator and they mispronounce so much. It becomes difficult to listen to and almost unbearable. It is so distracting that I have considered skipping all books read by her. It might be a better experience to physically read these book rather than using audible for this narrator books.

Can't wait to get past these and back to Kimberly Alexis narrated books!

I cannot leave a book unfinished so I suffered through the whole thing...by the last book I was actually hoping they would kill the main character- I just couldn't stand it any longer.
It was a little jostling to hear different narrators for each book, they have different pronunciations of the same words which was distracting.
They characters are over the top, in love, missing the other one, emotional everything!
The idea of the book was intriguing it just didn't make for a good story overall.

I am a gamer and enjoy the litrpg books. I have tried convincing myself I could keep listening, because usually I can at least finish. But this was hard to get into.
And the narrator, absolutely awful. It’s like grandpa is poorly reading about things he doesn’t understand. Tries to give each character a different voice but he only speaks higher or lower. But this is unbearable and not a good audio experience.

This book is very different from the Scarpetta series, and while I found things interesting about Captain Chase the book literally end abruptly. I thought it was an error with the audiobook.

The story was not as captivating but just as we started to understand a bit about the Langley twins it stops. At a really odd spot too.

I enjoyed the narrator and performance on the book.. the story was lacking.

Hoping Patricia Cornwell fixes the issues with this new story or let’s it go.

This was a poor follow-up for Ready Player One. Although it takes place right after the first book this one feels so disconnected and as a poor imitation of the original. It seemed like he was just throwing out random trivia and ideas this time rather than giving us scenes we could enjoy. It felt really been here done that type of story this time around without the fun and adventure of Ready Player One.
I was really looking forward to it and was hoping it would be just as fun...sadly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this book, I would enjoy Ready Player One and leave it at that.

This book surprised me and I truly enjoyed it. Yes it is a darker theme but it is really well done.
The performer did an excellent job and I would listen to other narrations by her.

I won't give away any of the story, it has some good twists in it that at least I didn't see coming.

Overall, great story, great performance and I would highly recommend.

Amazing backstory for characters we grew to love in season 1 of Carnival Row.
Performance is fantastic and I love her voice and the voice she gives to each character.
I hope we continue to get these glimpses into the world of Carnival Row.

The Anita Blake series is great- the narration is not. Each voice is the same, the editing with it sounding like someone is on the phone is distracting. It would actually be better and more enjoyable if the narrator had just used her voice throughout.

I have been a fan of Laurell K Hamilton's work for years and this series is good. What I do not like is the narration - it is awful and distracting. I would have preferred her to use her regular voice and not attempt other voices. She does not do a good job of any voices and they all end up sounding flat and odd.
I think I will have to stick to reading this series again rather than listening to them. I certainly wouldn't listen to anything else this narrator would do.
