Historia
On May 13, 1945, 24 American servicemen and WACs boarded a transport plane for a sightseeing trip over “Shangri-La,” a beautiful and mysterious valley deep within the jungle-covered mountains of Dutch New Guinea. Unlike the peaceful Tibetan monks of James Hilton’s best-selling novel Lost Horizon, this Shangri-La was home to spear-carrying tribesmen, warriors rumored to be cannibals. But the pleasure tour became an unforgettable battle for survival when the plane crashed. Miraculously, three passengers pulled through.

Even among iconic frontiersmen like John C. Fremont, Kit Carson, and Jedediah Smith, Jim Bridger stands out. A mountain man of the American West, straddling the fur trade era and the age of exploration, he lived the life legends are made of. Here, in a biography that finally gives this outsize character his due, Jerry Enzler takes this frontiersman's full measure for the first time—and tells a story that would do Jim Bridger proud.

What a massive book of knowledge!
Revisado: 12-29-23
I had always heard of
Jim Bridger the famous mountain man. But now I have a very clear idea of the man and not a fuzzy concept. This book covers so many adventures and life experiences. It is wonderfully detailed. If you love history of the old west or are a visitor to the mountain states of the west it will be worth your time to listen.

Historia
We all have doubts that challenge our faith. We wonder whether the Bible still matters, or whether God is truly as loving and personal as we hope. In his first ever devotional, The Logic of God, apologist Ravi Zacharias offers 52 entries that explain how and why Christianity, the Bible, and God are still relevant, vital, and life-changing for us today. To all our dilemmas, Ravi says, "I am convinced that Jesus Christ alone uniquely answers the deepest questions of our hearts and minds."

What Was That I Just Heard?
Revisado: 02-27-21
I’ve been a Christian for over 40 years. My walk with Christ is an average one. But I was wanting something more. Mr. Zacharias opened my eyes and mind and heart to the wondrous gift of the Gospel in a fresh and exciting way! He has so much to say that this book should be read slowly and thoughtfully. I plan to read it often!

Historia
Fifty-five years ago, Helen L. Taylor took John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress and simplified the vocabulary and concepts for young listeners while keeping the storyline intact. The result was a classic in itself, which has now sold over 600,000 copies. It's both a simple adventure story and a profound allegory of the Christian journey through life, a delightful listen with a message kids ages six to 12 can understand and remember. A new look for today's children enlivens the journey to the Celestial City.

Does not Disappoint
Revisado: 07-13-20
I read this book as a child. I read it to my own children too. They were as excited about it as I had been. And thinking I would see if it was as good as I remembered I have read it once more.
Yes, this book is as good as I remember.

In this classic book, Madeleine L’Engle addresses the questions, What makes art Christian? What does it mean to be a Christian artist? What is the relationship between faith and art? Through L’Engle’s beautiful and insightful essay, listeners will find themselves called to what the author views as the prime tasks of an artist: to listen, to remain aware, and to respond to creation through one’s own art.

Historia
After five hectic years of retirement from Lord's Chapel, Father Tim Kavanagh returns with his wife, Cynthia, from a so-called pleasure trip to the land of his Irish ancestors. While glad to be at home in Mitford, something is definitely missing: a pulpit. But when he's offered one, he decides he doesn't want it. Maybe he's lost his passion. His adopted son, Dooley, wrestles with his own passion - for the beautiful and gifted Lace Turner, and his vision to become a successful country vet.
