Historia
On Death and Dying began as a theoretical book, an interdisciplinary study of our fear of death and our inevitable acceptance of it. It introduced the world to the now-famous five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. On Grief and Grieving applies these stages to the process of grieving and weaves together theory, inspiration, and practical advice, all based on Kübler-Ross' and Kessler's professional and personal experiences.

Very good coverage of a very difficult topic
Revisado: 11-26-23
Elizabeth Kübler-Ross and David Kessler provided an excellent description of the five stages of grief. Their explanation, enhanced by many stories of different kinds of grief experiences helped me attain a better understanding of my own personal experiences.
It is a process that everyone goes through sooner or later and I think the content of this book helps understand the extraordinary personal feelings we go through when we lose a loved one, even when it may have happened in our childhood.
I feel eternally grateful for Elizabeth teachings documented in this and her previous books. Also David Kessler’s own experiences on grieving, particularly during 9/11 reminded of the fragility of life.
I recommend this book to anyone who is coping with grief and can’t find anyway to survive the pain. It is definitely not a cure or a way to overcome the pain of a loss faster, but it allow us to better understand our mixed feelings and know that we are not alone.

It’s down to the point and worth it!
Revisado: 06-28-23
I’ve read many of Dr. Dyer’s books, and they are outstanding and very useful for anyone seeking a better and happier life. This audiobook is a summary of the original book, but it provides a direct path for personal improvement in many areas. No need to embellish the specific points addressed by Dr. Dyer. The fact that Dr. Dyer himself recorded this book provides his own personal way to explain every “erroneous zone” in a way that no one else could have done it.
I find this audio book extraordinarily good and effective to help the reader become aware of his/her own self-imposed limitations due the internal thought. And it provides solutions to move forward and change your life in a positive way.
For anyone looking for a word by word reading of the original book, and listen for hours, this is not it. This book is a summary, and it contains the key message that you need to truly improve your life, from now on, without wasting your precious time.

This audio book is totally useless
Revisado: 01-19-23
I have “read” many excellent books as well as others that are not as good, but this one deserves the worst negative rating. The producers of this audiobook are not interested in the content but only to make money. They are prompt to say all the legal jargon about copyrights and prohibitions about the content of the book, yet do not provide a companion pdf with the recipes recommended by the author. It is a real shame as the content is derived from Dr. William Li’s extraordinary research about healthy eating. Yet, a boring dictation of recipes is not conducive to anything useful. I am sorry that the author’s effort to compile all the content is wasted in an audible book that cannot be followed. If you are interested in the recipes created by the author, then buy the printed copy. I am dissatisfied and disappointed that Audible has allowed this book in its inventory. A quick review of the delivery of the information would easily lead to a decision to remove it.

Dr. Jamison is one of the foremost authorities on manic-depressive (bipolar) illness; she has also experienced it firsthand. For even while she was pursuing her career in academic medicine, Jamison found herself succumbing to the same exhilarating highs and catastrophic depressions that afflicted many of her patients, as her disorder launched her into ruinous spending sprees, episodes of violence, and an attempted suicide.

An extraordinary and revealing story
Revisado: 12-25-22
I find the candidness of Dr. Redfield’s personal story very unique and extraordinary. It is both as an eye opener for the goods and bads of the manic depression condition and how to survive it whether experienced personally or through a friend or loved one. Dr. Redfield is a true survivor of a medical condition for which he has taken a warrior perspective to help other people as well as herself. She is an extraordinary human being, and thanks to her and people like her in the medical community, the people that suffer this condition have hope to live a full life and appreciate the positives and negatives of it, and how to keep it under control. Thank you Dr. Redfield for your courage in writing your story the way you wrote it and my best wishes in your research efforts in understanding this particular medical condition.

Another story of someone’s life
Revisado: 12-23-22
Despite the attractive book title, I was turned down initially by the monotonous and very long introduction. But it set the expectation for a very long and painful narration of the author’s life in search for meaning.
The top five regrets are listed on the title of five chapters, and they are meaningful. The rest of the book, I am very sorry to have wasted my time and money on it. At least I stopped early enough to dedicate more time to more enlightening books. Definitely not the type of book that inspires.

Historia
Life is a journey. Each one of us has to navigate through waters that threaten to envelope and drown us. Many are merely driven along by life's circumstances just trying to survive, while others find a boat, harness the elements, move forward, and thrive. The beauty of sailing is that it uses aerodynamics and physics to harness contrary winds and waves and move a vessel against them. In this brief volume, the author takes the listener on his own journey of discovery sailing as a metaphor for life.

Great way to navigate through life
Revisado: 10-08-18
The analogy of our own lives to sailing or boating is very true and very easy to understand. While sailing, when the wind changes, sailors adjust their sails to keep moving towards the goal. Very well known statement, but is is also true that sailors get hit by surprise with underwater objects, or sudden storms, and there are ways to handle those and ways to fail. The author makes a wonderful analogy with the teachings of JesusChrist and the “vessel” our Savior provides us to enjoy life at the fullest and to survive through tribulations. I enjoyed this audiobook very much and thank the author for sharing his thoughts, advise and teachings through this book. No need to be a sailor or boater to fully understand the teaching within.

Interesting but plausible futuristic prediction.
Revisado: 02-11-18
I must admit that for anyone that has read Mr. Brown's previous books, this one seems predictable in some ways.
However, looking through the smoke of suspense and putting aside predictability, I felt that this book accurately presented the possibility of artificial intelligence reaching a maturity level of controlling human lives in the near future.
In fact, I believe that the supercomputers existing today do have most of the capabilities described on this book.
We must reflect, however, on what if these computing capabilities are used against out own humanity if controlled by power hungry lunatics, with aggressive nationalism and intolerant ideas (as presented on this book when referring to Dictator Francisco Franco in Spain) and, I must add, like some of the leaders that we have today.
Quoting from the book, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" by Jorge Santayana.
IOur people must wake up and review the history of dictators Franco and Hitler and take proactive and responsible action to avoid the horrific crimes, suffering and oppression brought by them to millions of people.
The book presents the idea that we must teach our future generation love, tolerance and compassion, and teach them history, so they will be empowered to avoid the mistakes of the past.
I enjoyed the book as very entertaining, but the message and the technological possibilities presented are totally plausible. I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed every story and can relate to some of them. I also appreciate James' inspired guidance addressing personal issues such as regret, forgiveness, self esteem and others. I recommend this book as a gift to friends or relatives that are holding a grudge against loved ones and others.
Thank you James for writing this book for us that may not be able to attend your sessions.

Think and Grow Rich is a motivational personal development and self-help book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. While the title implies that this book deals only with how to achieve monetary wealth, the author explains that the philosophy taught in the book can be used to help individuals do or be almost anything they want.

Great message for overall success
Revisado: 11-20-11
I downloaded this book after another author referenced on his book. The bottom line is that Mr. Napoleon Hill describes a method for success that has been proven over and over by thousands of people and copied in many forms by many other authors, even in today's bests sellers for personal development.
If you are interested in this topic, I suggest you download a lecture by Mr. Napoleon Hill in his own voice, also available at Audible.com. It is the best and I am sure you will get the message delivered efficiently and enjoyable. Mr. Hill's method for success is without doubt a proven approach for anyone that truly desires to succeed in life, whether is business or personal.
My only regret is that Audible.com advertises this book as narrated by Mr. Napoleon Hill and that is not the case. The actual narrator has the most boring voice that I have heard with a British accent and it takes away pretty much most of the interest from the reader (listener). So if you do not care about the narrator's voice, then I recommend to download this version, otherwise, look for another narrator or Mr. Hill's truly own voice on his real life lecture recording, also available here in Audible.com.
