Historia
World War II began with a metallic roar as the German Blitzkrieg raced across Europe, spearheaded by the most dreaded weapon of the 20th century: the Panzer. No German tank better represents that thundering power than the infamous Tiger, and Otto Carius was one of the most successful commanders to ever take a Tiger into battle, destroying well over 150 enemy tanks during his incredible career.

It’s a gripping narrative
Revisado: 09-08-24
It’s really an interesting book. It’s kind of cool to have a World War II book that just tells the story of one man struggle during that period of time without getting super political and just talking about the military aspects of it and the life of the soldier at the time

The most fatal virus known to science, rabies kills nearly 100 percent of its victims once the infection takes root in the brain. From Greek myths to zombie flicks, from the laboratory heroics of Louis Pasteur to the contemporary search for a lifesaving treatment, Rabid is a fresh, fascinating, and often wildly entertaining look at one of mankind’s oldest and most fearsome foes.

Historia
In August 1776, a little over a month after the Continental Congress had formally declared independence from Britain, the revolution was on the verge of a sudden and disastrous end. General George Washington found his troops outmanned and outmaneuvered at the Battle of Brooklyn, and it looked like there was no escape. But thanks to a series of desperate rear-guard attacks by a single heroic regiment, famously known as the Immortal 400, Washington was able to evacuate his men, and the nascent Continental Army lived to fight another day.

Not a full over view of the war
Revisado: 06-09-21
This was simultaneously broad and deep. It focused mostly on one group of soldiers throughout the war which was pretty cool but I also felt that I didn’t go deep enough. It also wasn’t brought enough to be a good general overview of the war. That being said if you want more revolutionary war content this will definitely bring stories to your attention that you probably have not heard before it is worth the time if you’re a history buff. But if you’re just getting into revolutionary war history this is not the book to start with.

Bad audio good story
Revisado: 05-10-21
The recording fidelity leaves a lot to be desired but the story is great and well told. It’s amazing how much of the kids life isn’t told in modern documentaries. It’s worth a listen if you have any interest in the west, particularly if you want to hear it in the parlance of the day.

Great basic over veiw
Revisado: 05-09-21
It was mildly repetitive as most great courses are. However it was a really nice overview. I wish I were a little bit deeper and that’s why I didn’t give it a full five stars. But other than that it was very nice.

Historia
Science fiction allows us to go places we can only dream of seeing - other worlds, distant stars, entirely different galaxies. While not every story is concerned with the hard science behind space travel and other futuristic ventures, fiction can give us amazing insight into what we could be capable of and what we dream of doing. In these 10 lectures, Professor Erin Macdonald interweaves real science and the achievements of the imagination to reveal the truth that underlies our favorite stories and sheds light on what the future may hold.

Basic but fun
Revisado: 05-08-21
If you have a working knowledge of basic physics this book will not bring much new to the table however it’s a fun romp and if you are turned off by the concept of learning about physics this would be a very lighthearted introduction to the topic.

The definitive investigation into the greatest aviation mystery in history, with a startling hypothesis about who took the plane, where they took it, and how. On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared. A year later, still no trace of the plane - or the 239 people onboard - has been found. But why? In The Plane That Wasn't There, science journalist and CNN aviation analyst Jeff Wise sweeps aside the conspiracy theories and misconceptions and lays out, with clear concision, just what we know about the plane's fate - and what we don't.

Whether you’re into conspiracy theories or not. This book is a lot of fun in terms of learning how aircraft work in the modern era. And how an lost aircraft search is conducted and is well worth the read

Historia
Veteran science journalist Leonard David explores the moon in all its facets, from ancient myth to future "Moon Village" plans. David offers inside information about how the United States, allies, and competitors, as well as key private corporations like Moon Express and Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin, plan to reach, inhabit, and even harvest the moon in the decades to come. Spurred on by the Google Lunar XPRIZE - $30 million for the first to get to the moon and send images home - the 21st-century space race back to the moon has become more urgent, and more timely, than ever.

If you love the moon and space history you will love this book but it does start rough. Get through the first chapter and it will start moving along smoothly. That and some of the readers pronunciations are the only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars
