This is a great book, for the current moment we are in, but I think it will end up being timeless as the themes and ideas will only GROW in importance as our culture goes more and more towards individualism and the distraction/addicted culture of technology. I will be using this as a guide for discipleship for college students, this is an excellent resource and a great read for the importance of friendship and how to cultivate real relationships.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

It's a possible game changer. The stories and analysis is well researched and powerfully convey the message. Hopefully when we all understand how we got here, we can take steps to move out the current reality of the caste system.

What a great book! I'm a teacher, a husband, a dad of two girls and a bi-vocational minister of the gospel (my real job is working for the church). This is such a useful and great book that anyone could learn something new and helpful for them to connect with another person. In this day and age when everyone is getting more and more sucked into screens what people really need is to know to connect with another person not in a transactional way, but in a personal way, and Dr. Goulston's book can help you do just that. Isn't that important enough to spend some time learning? If you interact with people in any way, then this will be a great book for you, possibly life changing. Thank you Dr. Goulston for making this book!

This is one of the best series of all time. Right up there with Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia & Lord of the Rings. Just more accessible for younger kids. My daughter who is about to enter 3rd grade also really enjoys the series. Highly recommend for long car trips with the family.

The Vietnam War was the hardest to get thru listening, perhaps it must have felt similar to people living thru that time. Many leadership lessons in this great book.
