Incredibly Breathtaking

I can add little to the praise already proffered for the writer, as well as for the remarkable narration ; but putting that aside, this book is riveting and tantalizing to the point of distraction.
With characters better developed than A Tale of Two Cities, and intrinsically bringing on more anticipation that Oliver Twist, this masterpiece elicits my gratitude, for it bestows on myself of the plebeian nature, to feel pleasure, pain, sorrow, beyond that which life at times seems able to bear.

A well read, well written history of Alexander. I give it the highest regard; the language used in its presentation is superior to the vast majority of written biographies.

Interesting, But Intensely Biased

Solomon is clearly a lover of FDR, without regard to the principles of his actions. He gives a good account of events, but the details given to explain away the intent of key figures clearly has a strong liberal/progressive taste to it. This would be fine, but the facts are all given with the intent to convince the reader that the president was acting only to protect the poor, and the other side only acted to protect the rich; his constant ragging on the judges is disconcerting and makes the book difficult to listen to.
