Always a Pleasure!
Revisado: 01-30-21
Feels like Connelly’s setting up for another Lincoln Lawyer book with the case still being up in the air at the end. That’s exciting but I can see how that may leave some feeling shorted. All in all a great read! Peter Giles, what can I say. He’s thee voice of Mickey, I could listen to him all day. I listened to this in a single day, excellent story, fun twist and a slightly open ending for the next book!

Historia
Back when Harry Bosch was just a rookie homicide detective, he had an inspiring mentor who taught him to take the work personally and light the fire of relentlessness for every case. Now that mentor, John Jack Thompson, is dead, but after his funeral his widow hands Bosch a murder book that Thompson took with him when he left the LAPD 20 years before - the unsolved killing of a troubled young man in an alley used for drug deals.

What a performance!
Revisado: 11-07-19
I loved at the end of the last book the narrators we’re together! I said in the review that they should do that more in the next book and lookie there they did just that for Night Fire. It was expertly done and I loved it! It enriched the story ten fold and really made me really get the feeling that bosch and Ballard were actually standing together having a conversation. As for the story, I loved how it was kind of a slow burn for a Connelly book. Michael expertly wove several cases in one and two main characters in one. I’m already looking forward to hearing about the next Bosch and Ballard novel!

Startes off intriguing but slow. It picks up quickly though!

I loved this. I wasn’t expecting it to be small scale in story at the beginning and it was a little slow at first but then all with a bang it paced up and exploded. Literally!

Historia
In a case that spans 20 years, Harry Bosch links the bullet from a recent crime to a file from 1992, the killing of a young female photographer during the L.A. riots. Harry originally investigated the murder, but it was then handed off to the Riot Crimes Task Force and never solved. Now Bosch's ballistics match indicates that her death was not random violence, but something more personal, and connected to a deeper intrigue. Like an investigator combing through the wreckage after a plane crash, Bosch searches for the "black box", the one piece of evidence that will pull the case together.

I really liked the narrator. I am very particular with Bosch narrators and narrators in general. Michael McConnohie nailed Bosch! Connelly also wrote an excellent story as always.

Historia
Renée Ballard is working the night beat again and returns to Hollywood Station in the early hours only to find a stranger rifling through old file cabinets. The intruder is retired detective Harry Bosch, working a cold case that has gotten under his skin. Ballard kicks him out but then checks into the case herself, and it brings a deep tug of empathy and anger. Bosch is investigating the death of 15-year-old Daisy Clayton, a runaway on the streets of Hollywood who was brutally murdered and her body left in a dumpster like so much trash. Now, Ballard joins forces with Bosch.

Revisado: 12-05-18
This has been one of my favorites of Connelly. I love the back and forth narrators as well! However on the last chapter when they alternated readers within the chapter I then wished that’s how it was done the entire book! All in all and excellent book.

Historia
An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive - and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous - that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

Best Michael Connelly book I’ve had the pleasure enjoying.
Revisado: 04-07-18
I’ve been listening to a lot of Connelly recently and this is the best I’ve picked up yet. Dynamic story thrilling mystery and impactful plot. I also prefer petter Giles reading this far. He’s easy to listen to and gives life to every character. This one is a must have in your Connelly collection!

Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Awesome change of pace for Michael Connelly
Revisado: 03-30-18
I loved this title. It was a fresh read for me since I’ve been listening to a lot of Bosch and Haller books lately. I like that it was read by a female since the main character was female. However I wish she differentiated the characters more. I’ve been listened no to peter Giles recently and enjoy how he has a voice for each person and a internal narrator voice. All in all though I loved this book!

Historia
Detective Harry Bosch has retired from the LAPD, but his half-brother, defense attorney Mickey Haller, needs his help. The murder rap against his client seems ironclad, but Mickey is sure it's a setup. Though it goes against all his instincts, Bosch takes the case. With the secret help of his former LAPD partner, Lucia Soto, he turns the investigation inside the police department. But as Bosch gets closer to discovering the truth, he makes himself a target.

Connelly never fails to hook me.
Revisado: 03-12-18
I started reading Connelly books a few months back and I haven’t put his titles down. I will give one critique to Titus however, when he read as Bosch and Haller there wasn’t a huge variation in tone. I occasionally found myself wondering who it was that was speaking a few times due to this. Other than that I loved listening to him!
