Historia
This Audible Exclusive production revisits Charles Dickens’ tragi-comic novel Little Dorrit. Written during the Crimean War, it a story of fortunes won and lost and a masterly portrayal of the failings of Victorian Society, with the ever-present spectre of law enforcement and imprisonment looming over a fearful population. Divided into two parts, Book One: Poverty and Book Two: Riches, Little Dorrit satirises the debtors prisons and the detrimental effect of enforcing a British class system.

Excellent narrator! Such a performance.
Revisado: 06-07-24
This is a beautiful story. Another masterpiece of Dickens, complex and rich. Juliet Stevenson's reading of the characters was just so good. The character of Pancks was outrageous! I don't know how she did it. lol. I highly recommend it to Audible listeners.

George Orwell's classic satire of the Russian Revolution is an intimate part of our contemporary culture, quoted so often that we tend to forget who wrote the original words! This must-read is also a must-listen!

Historia
First published in monthly parts from March 1852 to September 1853, this novel follows the fortunes of three pedestrian characters; Esther Summerson, Ada Clare, and Richard Carstone. The story they tell embondies Dickens' merciless indictment of the Court of Chancery and its bungling, morally corrupt handling of the endless case of Jarndyce v. Jarndyce, giving the novel its scope and meaning.

What a beautiful and entertaining story.
Revisado: 05-13-24
Simon Vance as per usual was the best narrator. The story is so vast and the characters so lovable. Dickenson gives us such a great example of what is true nobility, true love and right sacrifice. Everyone should read this book to see examples of true charity and virtue in action. So good. When I came to the end it was as if I had to say goodbye to a beloved friend. I highly encourage you to give it a listen.

Unconfirmed accounts of a group of Araluen warriors - tales of adventure, battle, and triumph over evil - have spread for centuries throughout the known world. Most notable is a clan shrouded in mystery, phantom warriors known as the Rangers. Two names pass the lips of every storyteller: Halt, and his apprentice, Will. They and their comrades in arms are said to have traveled throughout the kingdom and beyond its borders, protecting those who needed it most.

Historia
This superbly told story brings to life one of the most remarkable rulers––and men––in all of history and conveys the drama of his life and world. The Russia of Peter's birth was very different from the Russia his energy, genius, and ruthlessness shaped. Crowned co-Tsar as a child of ten, after witnessing bloody uprisings in the streets of Moscow, he would grow up propelled by an unquenchable curiosity, everywhere looking, asking, tinkering, and learning, fired by Western ideas.

Revisado: 04-07-20
A beautiful history not only of the man, Peter the Great, but also of his time in history. It provides a wonderful picture of the time period. what they ate, what they wore, how they lived. Detailed pictures of the rulers of his time. The landscape and culture of the cities in the capitols of the world at that time. Fascinating. Narrator is excellent, as per usual.
