A surprisingly good suspense tale is defeated by an author's lazy reliance on the F word for dialogue. The plot can be summarized by characters say F, F, F. Assault. Sloan cries. Repeat.

Very racist

Very judgy, racist and shows more opinion than fact. It's unfortunate that pour their own preconceptions into this account.

Good read that challenges perceptions

Had the writer skipped the political diatribe I would have given this a five. The book challenges our mind set on what is drug abuse and what is victimhood. Unfortunately it also falls into the current lazy literature of blaming everything on conservatives and hating anyone that has money.

Mostly porn disguised as an actual story. The accents are so bad it makes this unintentionally hilarious.

Well developed story with subtle tones of intrigue

I enjoyed the presentation of the story and felt little need to fast forward. The story line progressed at a good clip that kept me interested. My two biggest complaints are too common in this genre. There was the overuse of the f word.... Goodness writers, get a thesaurus! Overuse of profanity dumbs down your writing. The second issue is the needy / independent woman. Soph is proclaiming herself a strong independent woman but blames everything on one man... Ugh!

Quite interesting

A more accurate title would be the history of alcohol with an emphasis on bourbon. This does not diminish from the presentation. The information published provides a wealth of knowledge and is beneficial in understanding greater matters in history. The few traverses off the path into political opinion and a few remarks that showed a bit of an elitist view caused some distraction.

It's funny in places

While new moms and moms to be may feel at place in this story, it's a bit too whiny to digest. This story would have been a trifle more enjoyable with a little less "poor me" and a lot more laughing.

Vulgarity is no substitute for wit. This story would have been a great deal more humorous if there was more emphasis on word use and less sloppiness with swearing. Sadly it took away from a great premise.

The first half of the book is hilarious... If you read this while walking on the treadmill you may stumble. The book finishes on the more typical romcom route. A bit humor and a bit less feeling sorry for high school Mallory would be preferencial. The narration gets a 95%. Who says "fluffier"... It's fluffa. And everyone loves fluffanutta.

Lends itself better to a written format

Narration was great, content was interesting and I struggled with the references. Definitely a book worth reading but perhaps not the best in Audible version.
