The narrator was good. That's about the only good thing I can say about it. I usually enjoy this author's books, but I just could not get into this one, I forced myself to finish it to leave this review. 6 hours in and nothing had really happened. It was supposed to be a paranormal suspense but the ghost (1) had almost nothing to do with the story. It was there, it caused one major incident and the room was closed. I also wasn't a huge fan of the characters, I didn't hate them, but I couldn't really connect with them either. I think my review title says it all.

I finished it but didn't find it particularly memorable. The narration was good and they made an effort to have a Spanish accent for the Spanish speaking characters. Didn't hate it or love it so after this time I won't be listening again.

The narrators did a good job but as a head's up - rather than Oliver as Hunter or Mia as Alice through the entire book it went by who's point of view started the chapter. The hero Bane is 300+ years old and used to being in command and very protective his family but it still seemed a bit much to me (but by the end Bane is completely devoted to Ryan which I liked). Ryan as a heroine was okay and some of the interactions between them were pretty funny so it was a nice read.

I like this book more than the 1st. The heroine in this book (Alice) appealed to me. She is an animal lover and a strong character who has learned how to handle her power in spite of others trying to use her for it. Charlie is also a favorite (super adorable). Like the first book the narration is either Oliver/Mia based on whether it's Hunter or Alice's point of view at the start of each chapter. Both narrators did a really good job.

Generally I like novellas but while the narration was great the story moved too fast and there wasn't much about smuggler's. From the title I'd expected a bit more. Also, unless I forgot some minor character in the governess series I'm not sure why it's listed as book 12.

Great narration of this book though (like the first book) I would've preferred a bit more of a pause between switching scenes/character perspectives. The hero (Ian) is part Selkie and it is an important part of this book but Dodd does a great job of mixing it with the historical setting so it still feels like the same time period as the first in the series. The story of Mary's brother, Haden is included in the novella Under the Kilt. I wish he had his own book but overall I liked them and will be listening again.

This book has a strong heroine who began as a naive young lady named Guinevere but was forced to mature and take on a new persona as Mary. Unlike many heroines she becomes a member of the serving class. Years later her loyalty to her employer/friend forces her to accept a mission that takes her where she least wants to go (back to her relative's home) and she discovers she is an heiress. The hero of the story (Sebastian) is cunning/manipulative so not as likable but considering how her relatives destroyed his, it later makes his actions seem more understandable. I feel like the narration could have been better. In particular I would've liked more of a pause between swapping to a new scenes since it sometimes got confusing. Overall, I found the book both somewhat humorous (Sebastian's godmother + uncles) and enjoyed listening.

I listened to this series for the first time last year and was waiting for the finale. It didn't disappoint. Gin started out as a powerful heroine with a tragic backstory who became an assassin to get revenge for her murdered family but throughout the series she has struggled against stronger and stronger enemies and made friends along the way. This time she is confronting the strongest elemental she has ever faced and it's nice to see how Gin has grown. She has allies she trusts and has grown into her powers. I wasn't sure how she would beat the mastermind who only recently revealed himself but I think the finale was great because it is the culmination of all she has learned. For her to fight smart, trust in her allies and to do what she finds so difficult; to ask for help. While she can't turn back the past she is finally able to accept that many good things have happened because of it too and she has people who are important to her that she may never have met if the tragedy hadn't occurred.

This is the story of Cait MacLean (the missing sister of Kiernan in Lost in Your Arms) and Taran Tamson the long lost prince of an island country who met and fell in love 9 years before. They meet again when he (who was forced to become a pirate) needs a lockpick and she has gained the skills to do it in that time apart. While not my favorite in the series it is a good book with some funny parts (I like Cait's fight scenes) and awesome narration.

This book picks up after In Bed With the Duke with the story of the true Moricadian ruler that was rumored to be returning. Raul Lawrence (formerly called Saber in his own country before being sent away by his family as a child for his safety) meets the lady he met 3 years ago currently working as a governess/assistant for a well-to-do accountant. Victoria was close friends with his half sister and thinking that what Belle told her was a joke/child's fantasy is indiscreet with what she knows. To prevent her from giving away his secret Saber kidnaps her. The plot was interesting, the hero and heroine were strong, likable characters and the book had some parts I found quite funny. Overall a great read.
