Not the TV Longmire but a great story!
Revisado: 03-26-25
I had to wait 3 years before I could listen to this version of Walt Longmire. He’s a bit more ignoble than the TV version but possesses the same wit and wisdom that I love in a good crime-solver. The story starts a little slow but picks up to a good pace before you’re aware of it. The ending is worth the wait!

Historia
The result of this Roger Daltrey's introspection is a remarkable memoir, instantly captivating, funny and frank, chock-full of well-earned wisdom and one-of-kind anecdotes from a raucous life that spans a tumultuous time of change in Britain and America. Born during the air bombing of London in 1944, Daltrey fought his way (literally) through school and poverty and began to assemble the band that would become The Who while working at a sheet metal factory in 1961.

An honest telling
Revisado: 05-13-24
Daltrey himself seems to be sincere and honest in telling his story, along with the story of The Who. Daltrey also gives the impression that he’s trying to be factual while also being philosophical and insightful. I found his thoughts and perceptions very spot on and surprisingly deep. The whole book was enjoyable but Daltrey’s personality comes through strongly as he’s reading, and this adds much to the enjoyment of it all.

Young men, take heed!
Revisado: 04-27-22
While I don’t espouse war or violence, I’m well aware that my freedom isn’t free. These young men (17-22 years old) fought bravely and suffered much in later years so that I could enjoy mine. We need more men like these young men! An inspiring book that makes me want to be better. Thanks!

Amazing!
Revisado: 05-23-21
Jim Dale doesn’t just read the books in the series - he performs them all, each and every character beautifully defined and wonderfully voiced by himself. I’ve never enjoyed audiobooks more than I have Jim Dale’s performance reading of Harry Potter’s adventures. Do yourself a favor and give a listen to the first book in the series, “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone”. You’ll keep listening, as I have, from one to the next. Enjoy!

Bruce Lee is a cultural icon, renowned the world over for his martial arts and film legacy. But Lee was also a deeply philosophical thinker, learning at an early age that martial arts are more than just an exercise in physical discipline - they are an apt metaphor for living a fully realized life. Now, in Be Water, My Friend, Lee’s daughter, Shannon, shares the concepts at the core of his philosophies, showing how they can serve as tools of personal growth and self-actualization.
