Historia
In misty, coastal Washington State, Isaac lives alone with his dog, grieving the recent death of his teenage son, Daniel. Next door, Lorrie, a working single mother, struggles with a heinous act committed by her own teenage son. Separated by only a silvery stretch of trees, the two parents are emotionally stranded, isolated by their great losses - until an unfamiliar 16-year-old girl shows up, bridges the gap, and changes everything.

Not a story I typically enjoy
Revisado: 09-10-21
Audible recommended this book for me, it sounded ok so I took a listened. I only listened all the way through because I hate wondering how the story ends. Well I could’ve actually quit half way through with this story because there’s really no true conclusion at the end. The story as a whole makes you feel dirty, there’s no happy ending, and no warm fuzzy points in the story to make you smile. The readers of the story did a great job & I enjoyed their voices, but that’s it. I’ve never read nor listened to a book that left me so…bleh…

Good to make you think
Revisado: 05-07-21
Great book - good for discussion & really thinking about life & perspectives, motives & beliefs. Definitely not a light book, it’s very convicting & would recommend to anyone looking to educate themselves on another culture’s point of view. Empathy is definitely deepened when listening to this book.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Great story
Revisado: 05-07-21
I loved this book. I love stories about what life was like in the South (like “The Secret Life of Bees” or “The Help”). The story was well written & kept my attention. There were moments where, what you were hoping would happen, but doesn’t happen - and it does happen eventually, but there’s good dialogue in between those moments to keep you interested.

Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Nicely written trashy story
Revisado: 05-07-21
Not the typical type of story I listen to, so the story got a 3 star for that. It’s pretty trashy & hope I don’t know anyone like in this story in real life...however, the author wrote wonderfully & kept me hanging on for more, so overall it’s a 4 star because of the writing style.

It was ok
Revisado: 05-07-21
My daughter and I listened to this. She’s 11. This book seems like a lot of parts were meant for us to hear, and some parts that were still too mature to listen to, so we skimmed through those parts. The book has good lessons for preteens/teens on girl life, relationships, drama, etc. For anyone not into God or church, this book is a little pushy from that aspect, so keep that in mind. Overall I have it 4 stars because there were good topics talked about that my daughter & I could discuss, but a bit pushy on the religious side. Which we take with a grain of salt but still good to hear (a little bit of it).
