Historia
Maya was a high school senior when her best friend, Aubrey, dropped dead in front of the enigmatic man named Frank whom they’d been spending time with all summer. Seven years later, Maya lives in Boston with a loving boyfriend and is kicking the secret addiction that has allowed her to cope with what happened years ago, the gaps in her memories, and the lost time that she can’t account for. But her past comes rushing back when she comes across a recent YouTube video in which a young woman suddenly keels over and dies in a diner while sitting across from none other than Frank.

LOL

I loved this book! As a Latina born in America, I could TOTALLY relate to the idea of becoming a success and moving out of my ethnic childhood neighborhood. Michelle's struggles are real in that after receiving a 1st class education and completing all the requirements to become a licensed Therapist, she is undicided whether to follow the money at a thriving clinic in Conniticut or offer her services back in her old neighborhood where she feels the love and the needs of the family and characters she grew up with.

Historia
Lila, homeless and alone after years of roaming the countryside, steps inside a small-town Iowa church - the only available shelter from the rain - and ignites a romance and a debate that will reshape her life. She becomes the wife of a minister, John Ames, and begins a new existence while trying to make sense of the life that preceded her newfound security. Neglected as a toddler, Lila was rescued by Doll, a canny young drifter, and brought up by her in a hardscrabble childhood.
