Unexpected…
Revisado: 12-10-24
Without giving anything away, this one echoed many things we’re currently experiencing in our country and the world. Some very unexpected things happened in this one and they stung. The saga will be different going forward. As with every book in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, characters I’ve come to know, and flawless performance. I would highly recommend this book for mature readers. Happy Reading!

Revisado: 11-27-24
This book kept my interest from the very start with its subtle foreshadowing and interesting twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed the story as well as the performance. I’m new to this author and look forward to reading more of her work. Due to descriptions of violence, this book would be best for adult readers. Happy Reading!

Entertaining but…
Revisado: 09-13-24
While I did enjoy the book overall, I was a little disappointed by the ending. I feel it was wrapped up a little too quickly, like a deadline had to be reached, compared to the detail in the rest of the book. I recognize that this is a purely subjective opinion, and I would still recommend the book. The performance was flawless and the story line held my interest throughout. Perhaps it’s my enjoyment of it that made me regret it was over. Happy Reading!

Historia
Prosecuting attorney in the Manson trial Vincent Bugliosi held a unique insider's position in one of the most baffling and horrifying cases of the 20th century: the cold-blooded Tate-LaBianca murders carried out by Charles Manson and four of his followers. What motivated Manson in his seemingly mindless selection of victims, and what was his hold over the young women who obeyed his orders? Now available for the first time in unabridged audio, the gripping story of this famous and haunting crime is brought to life by acclaimed narrator Scott Brick.

The Original True Crime Novel
Revisado: 07-05-23
I’ve read this book several times and had the good fortune to meet Vince Bugliosi a few years back. Genuinely nice fellow. And to me, his is the original True Crime novel. Well written, concise yet thorough, and a good blend of factual details and personal anecdotes, I find myself revisiting this book every few years. It’s a deep dive into the gruesome depravity that was the Manson Family, the Keystone Cops-like bungling of the local gendarmerie investigating the case, and navigating the ever-turning wheels of Justice during the Trial of the Century. And I couldn’t imagine a better reader for this book than Scott Brick. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart as it goes into very descriptive and gory detail of how each victim was murdered so I’d recommend it for adult readers only. Happy Reading!

Disappointing ending
Revisado: 01-12-23
I liked the book a lot in the beginning. It really held my attention. Without giving anything away, I’ll just say the ending was a complete disappointment. Perhaps it’s a matter of personal taste, but it was just too abrupt and seemed like the author had a deadline to meet and just wrapped it up where they were. Narrator did a nice job. Don’t regret reading the book. Would still recommend. Happy Reading!

The obesity epidemic is out of control in this country. This book was very enlightening from a capitalistic, economic, and psychosocial perspective. I learned a great deal without ever feeling like I was being lectured or “blamed”, and feel empowered to make changes for myself and my family, IF we want to do so. I highly recommend this book!
