I found "My Notorious Life" very enjoyable and thought provoking. Although I have always been aware of the way women have been treated in history, I believe this amazing piece of historical fiction should be read or listened to by both men & women. As I listened to it during my daily commute to work, I often sat either at my work parking spot or my home driveway waiting for a chapter to finish. I'm definitely going to explore Kate Manning's other novels.

Terry Donnelly's narration is a jewel in itself. Her interpretations of the characters as well as life in the late 1800's and early 1900's are a treasure to behold!

The Book Thief Stole ME!

I just finished listening to "The Book Thief (Unabridged)", and after sitting down HARD on a nearby chair, I haven't been able to get up for 15 minutes. This book is astonishing! The visual images created in my mind by Markus's words and Allan's voice has put me into a trance for the past several days. I feel like I'm standing next to all the characters... maybe I feel like the narrator... Death!

The entire book is so rich in word play and images that while I listened to it during my morning and evening commutes, I waited in the parking lot or driveway until the chapter was done.

Then when I resumed listening later on, I backtrack about 5 minutes to refresh my memory and get back into the story. AND I MEAN... Get Back Into The Story!

I don't know why this book has been labeled as a children's book. It's anything but that!

My German Grandmother always told me to read or listen all I could about what happened to not only the Jews, but also to a large amount of the regular German population during WW2. I have always done that!

This book vividly provides a place in anyone's heart who reads it, about what she told me.

I first listened to Pillars of The Earth and loved it completely. World without end is just as good if not better! Narrator John Lee brings it to life and I finished it in less than a week!

I purchased this audible book because my wife raved about it, and now that I've finished it, I totally understand why. I listen to books during my commute, and with this one, I found myself either waiting in my office parking lot in the morning until the current chapter finished, or in my driveway at home in the evening. A book for all to read, and one that as an audible version, has incredible readers!

The Gunslinger Audiolibro Por Stephen King arte de portada

Listened to it on a lark!

Several years ago, both my wife and I got hooked on Stephen King novels. Then something happened after Pet Semetary, we sort of both came to the same conclusion... "They all were Cookie Cutter novels and pretty predictable!"

It's been well over 15 years since either of us have attempted to read another.

Anyway, this past Christmas, our oldest son was home was home from college on term break and was reading "The Gunslinger". I asked him what he thought... and he said it was pretty good. That night, I purchased it through Audible and within 10 minutes I was hooked!

George Guidall's interpretation of King's narrative is spellbinding to say the least. More than once I sat either in my work's parking lot in the morning or in the driveway in the evening, not able to shut ut off!

I am now into "Dark Tower II - The Drawing of the Three", and it gets even better!

A long time ago, I really enjoyed George Carlin's comedy. He was original, bright and extremely funny. However ... over the past several years, he has become nothing more than an empty shell.

I find that what he has to say is nothing more than mindless ramblings with a bunch of four letter words thrown in for chuckles. He is nothing more than an angry old man who thinks he is funny but isn't.

I couldn't

Even though it's an audio book, where you can stop the story and pick it up again later, I found myself either sitting in my office parking lot after the morning commute or the driveway at home in the evening not wishing to stop it for another day. Rich in visual images and sudden changes in events, I can't wait to "read" my next Hoag novel!
