Definitely a... different litrpg

Love GameLit!

I recently started reading and listening in the GameLit genre, and saw this box set available, so I decided to give it a try. At first, I thought it would be a certain kind of story, and to a degree it was, but it became more than expected the further along I listened. Enjoyed both the story and narration, and am always thrilled to find a narrator who can do lots of voices. Will gladly listen to more from either this author or this narrator, especially if it's GameLit.

Loved this series

This was the first series I listened to or read by Dan Wells. When I bought the first audio book, I didn't even notice that he was the author. It was on sale and the description hooked me, so I decided to give it a try. I had finished the first book and already purchased the other two before I realized who the author was. Now I understand why he has such a great reputation. The story of the Partials and the future of humanity is so relevant to the state of the world today. And the narration by Julia Whelan helped pull me into Dan's world. I'll not hesitate to buy more audio books with either Dan or Julia involved.

Great story and narration

At first I wasn't sure I would like this story. Didn't feel like it was going anywhere fast. Then it took off, and what a thrillride it was. Kept me guessing all the way through. The narration was lovely, with the words enunciated so clearly, I could make them out even at 2x speed. Not that I played the whole story at that speed, but I could have if I'd wanted to. I recommend this story to anyone who likes science fiction, gangsters, Mars, reality tv, and a little romance all mixed together.

I can't remember the last time I felt so immersed in a story. I'm new to GameLit/LitRPG, but this story has completely sold me on the genre. If I could give this story a bonus star, I would. If you're an rpg gamer, I highly recommend this story. Edit: I forgot to mention - I loved the variety of voices in this production. They pulled me into the story, making it a great immersive experience.

My first LitRPG listen

I heard about LitRPG a few months ago and it piqued my interest enough to want to investigate further. I wanted a standalone story to start with, and this book was just what I needed. I'll be reading more of the genre, maybe a series or two. If more books are written to make this a series, I'll be interested in reading them. As an aspiring author, I might try writing some LitRPG or GameLit myself. It seems it would be great fun.

Loved both story and narration

The narration really brought this story to life. I would have enjoyed reading it, I'm sure, but having the different voices made it extra special. As for the actual story, it had many nice, unexpected twists. I thoroughly enjoyed the way it was all brought together in the end.
