Great story... hard to listen to

Starts of slow but very good
Revisado: 02-12-17
Started off very slow with 3 terrible stories. But after that it was very good! The narrator just does a mediocre job. Sounds like johnny cash. But over all pretty good. I would recommend.

Historia
A woman rejects her husband's heart - and gives it back to him, still beating, in a plastic box. A little boy betrays his father to the harsh mercies of Santa Claus. A widower suspects his dead wife's face is growing over his own. A man goes to Hell, and finds he's roommate to the ghost of Hitler's pet dog. Giant spiders, killer angels, ghost cat photography, and the haunted house right at the center of the Garden of Eden. Deliciously frightening, darkly satirical, and always unexpected, Robert Shearman has won the World Fantasy Award, the British Fantasy Award, the Shirley Jackson Award, and the Edge Hill Reader's Prize.

not for me not even for horror fans
Revisado: 01-09-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I think people that might enjoy it would be fans of dark but not to scary horror and have a odd sense of humor
What was most disappointing about Robert Shearman’s story?
stories weren't that scary nor did I find that that funny. some of them I couldn't even make it through. There were maybe like 2 i really enjoyed.
Have you listened to any of Steven Menasche’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I heard him once before and he was pretty good. Gave a good effort.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Some attempts at humor were indeed very funny.
Any additional comments?
Maybe it is a British thing and some of the humor doesn't translate with me. But I found that the humor basically was all over the place and was just wacky and didn't make any sense.

Not to scary
Revisado: 11-02-16
Some stories are interesting, and some are not scary and make no sense what's so ever. This is not above an average horror movie. The people that think this is scary probably think someone who dresses up as a ghost with a sheet over their face is scary. Cliched, twists have no good pay offs. Just not scary.

No good payoff
Revisado: 03-13-16
The performances of the actors were excellent. However, the story had no real good payoff and it was very vague to even understand what had happened at the end.

Hit or miss
Revisado: 03-04-16
These stories are really hit or miss. I didn't like these stories to much. They seem kinda corny and weren't really scary or even weird. I liked some of the other beyond the pale takes but this wasn't to good at all.
