Historia
In We Will Not Be Silenced, Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer prepares you to live out your convictions against a growing tide of hostility. Gain a better understanding of nonbelievers' legitimate hurts and concerns regarding issues like racism, sexism, and poverty - and identify the toxic responses secular culture disguises as solutions. In the process, you'll see how you can show compassion and gentleness to those outside of the faith without affirming their beliefs.

Not worth the money or time
Revisado: 04-15-21
As a Cristian, Lutzer is not considering the secular right at all. Typical right wing messages. So many issues to deal with, I will not even start. Makes me question where the Christian church is headed...

Extreme success, by definition, lies beyond the realm of normal action. If you want to achieve extreme success, you can’t operate like everybody else and settle for mediocrity. You need to remove luck and chance from your business equation, and lock in massive success. The 10X Rule shows you how!

Each to his own, I could not live like this. I am more of the Dave Ramsey type... Lots of unsustainable hype and quite a marketing machine (to sell books and other products). Not worth the read...

Historia
America is broken. You don't need a fistful of statistics to know this. Visit any city, and evidence of our shattered social compact will present itself. From Appalachia to rural Texas, the gap between the wealthiest and the poorest stretches to unimaginable chasms. In Tales of Two Americas, some of the literary world's most exciting writers look beyond numbers and wages to convey what it feels like to live in this divided nation. Their extraordinarily powerful stories, essays, and poems demonstrate how boundaries break down when experiences are shared.

Good book about poverty, does not really cover the wealthy side of America. So I would say the title should be Tales of Poverty in America.

Satan may rule the roost, but he's beset by the poor unfortunates condemned to sit out Eternity with him. Amongst them is the Professor, who is convinced that societies evolve and mature until Satan introduces him to Bill Clinton. There's also Scumspawn, with his large expanse of nothingness between the ears, as was always expected. And as for Satan himself, he is persuaded to attempt to improve his image on Earth, to remake Casablanca (with Bogart, Bergman, and a mutant alien) and starts a football match in Hell .

The actors are great, really better than a lot of movies who get awards. I have listened over and over just for the one liners which bring a smile. You won't need a lot of knowledge of culture, just some broad outlines of life and death. really worth every dime

Historical Perspective
Revisado: 05-25-15
Where does The Wealth of Nations rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is in the middle of the books I have listened to, but it has an amazing historical perspective of being written in the time America was a colony of England.
Have you listened to any of Gildart Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but he is good.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, amazed at the thinking sometimes...

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Tina Fey - The Right Story for the Right Person
Revisado: 07-22-12
Where does Bossypants rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
So far I would put this book above the average audiobook I have listened to so far.
What did you like best about this story?
The book is well read by Tina Fey, I liked the context of and the clear progression of the audiobook. It was well laid out, and for a fan of Tina Fey it will be well liked.
Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is right on track with other Tina Fey's performances. I felt like I had met the real Tina Fey when I was done with the book, like we had gone out for coffee. She covered topics such as friends, family and parenting. All things I would probably talk about when I was out having coffee with a friend.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
How to succeed as a woman without compromise.
Any additional comments?
This book is really geared toward the young lady who wants to learn about how you can succeed without compromise. It has a lot of sarcasm that can be enjoyed by everyone. I walked away glad I had listened and with a smile.

Historia
In May 2001, a group of men attempted to cross the Mexican border into the desert of southern Arizona, through the deadliest region of the continent, the "Devil's Highway." Three years later, Luis Alberto Urrea wrote about what happened to them. The result was a national bestseller, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, a "book of the year" in multiple newspapers, and a work proclaimed as a modern American classic.

Graphic Details
Revisado: 03-06-12
This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
People that like the immigration topic might like this book as long as they have the ability to stomache the graphic details that are very well written and described.
Has The Devil's Highway turned you off from other books in this genre?
I would have never selected this book, it was reccomended by the civil rights committee. After completing this book, I would not reccommend it due to the very descriptive nature of 14 people passing away in the desert. A real eye opener about dehydration and heat stroke....
What about Luis Alberto Urrea???s performance did you like?
Great writer, great description, terrible graphic topic.
What character would you cut from The Devil's Highway?
None.
Any additional comments?
This book offers great details about the Yuma 14. Unfortunatly, the Yuma 14 are the 14 out of 26 people that died in the desert. This book offers graphic details on why and how the 14 died in the desert and how the remaining 12 were rescued by the border patrol. Thank goodness for the border patrol

Historia
Bo Tully is the sheriff of Blight County, Idaho, where law enforcement is usually pretty mundane: tracking down truants running away from school, picking up country boys who've had a few too many beers. But Tully gets a little more than the country norm when an ex-con calls with the startling news that there's a corpse draped across one of his fences.

Adventure, characters, and fun
Revisado: 11-23-09
Patrick McManus book uses his knowledge of Idaho to draw you into this adventure and mystery. I really enjoyed the discriptions of the parts of Idaho that I have visited and characters who live in these communities. This is a great mystery with a lot of fun attached. The conversations fit the community he is writing about. Giving you a good idea of how things work in a small town. Living in a small community I could relate to many aspects of small town life. Well worth the price and time.
