Historia
"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?

I really loved this book. My family has either read or watched A Christmas Carol every year at Christmas time. This makes me love it even more! Written and read in the style of Charles Dickens. I'm sure he would approve!

Historia
Stuck at the bottom of the social ladder at "pretty much the lowest level of people at school who aren't paid to be here," Maya Van Wagenen decided to begin a unique social experiment: spend the school year following a 1950s popularity guide, written by former teen model Betty Cornell. Can curlers, girdles, Vaseline, and a strand of pearls help Maya on her quest to be popular? The real-life results are painful, funny, and include a wonderful and unexpected surprise.

For every girl
Revisado: 08-11-22
This should be required reading for all middle school/junior high age girls. She is so descriptive in the emotions and experiences of girls that age. That would help so much with the anxiety so many experience going into secondary education. Really loved it!
