So I really loves the ExForce series. I took a break from it last year to re-read the Wheel of Time and then decided to re-listen to ExForce star to finish. I picked up this title right after finishing Failure Mode and while I liked the story and R.C.'s performance it reminded me too much of ExForce. Caz has a very Joe Bishop like vibe and there were plenty of Skippy moments between his interactions with Duke and the genie. There was even a reference to "Barney style" which was prominent in Allenson's previous series.

I did enjoy this title though and I think the plot has a lot going for it. I'm looking forward to the second installment of the series this month. I think I just need to give it a couple months so I'm not constantly being reminded of one of my favorite SciFi series!

Three books into this series, I can't help but notice this is now the second series of Larson's where the protagonist is caught in heated situations solely because he can't can't keep his belcher under control... The issues aren't as overt in the Star Force series, but the roles reach party plays in both worlds plays out very similarly. it kind of throws me out of the story when there is a real tense action piece unfolding only to take an abrupt right turn to explore someone's feelings about who Spec James recently slept with. Similar to Star Force, our hero continues to string everyone along and has to deal with the consequences throughout their story arc. Hopefully we can stick to more of the main plot with less emphasis on everyone getting burned by our favorite horn dog!

This was a great follow up to the previous installment. A couple of interesting story arcs that started to come together which made for a fun ending. I can't wait for the next book! As always, Alanson's story as only R.C. Bray can narrate didn't disappoint!

This final book was a fantastic ending to the series. There were so many twists and turns throughout this book! The emotion coming from the characters, as only Michael Kramer can produce, had me on pins and needles wanting to know what was going to happen next. The epilogue tugged at me the hardest. Just a brilliant story and performance! Stories like these are always bitter sweet for me. You wait for years to get that satisfying ending and when you finally get it you're left a little pained knowing the story has come to an end.

This will definitely be a series I come back to in time!

I really enjoyed this title and thought it was a great bridge story to get us to book 8. I especially enjoyed the audio drama style of narration. R.C. Bray once again nailed his performance and I thought the rest of the cast did an amazing job as well. The sound effects really took the story telling to a new level for me.

Agreed with other listeners that sometimes the SFX were a bit too loud in some scenes, but I still enjoyed the immersion effect.

I'd like to see another title in audio drama format... Maybe book 8.5?

Keep up the great work!

I've enjoyed the series, and in general, Mr. Dotrice's rendition of the characters. At least his initial renditions... From Book 2 onward it seemed ike each book brought a variation on a number of characters. Most notable were Arya, Daenerys, Brienne, Petyr and Melisandre. His voice acting was still solid, but when you spend an entire book hearing a character one way and then hear them a different way in subsequent books, you lose some of the immersion thinking about those differences.
