Bad story and Bad Narrator
Revisado: 07-19-10
Not a coming of age novel, not really a novel in general. It's a story where people fall in love for a specific demographic. (This time for gays)
I would have liked it more if there was issues brought up. There wasn't. Certain people in Geoff's life attempt to cause a friction but nothing upsets anyone. I stopped listening to it because it was going no where.
That being said, the narrator is really awful. There is his regular voice, his Geoff voice, and everyone besides Geoff fall under this really sad high pitch voice.
The narrator is half the problem with this.

Historia
F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote many wonderful romantic and realistic short stories and a few incredible "on the edge" fantasy and supernatural stories. Although the story of "Benjamin Button" is quite different than the 2009 movie, the premise is the same - a man is born old and lives his life backwards! Fizgerald says he got the idea from Mark Twain's remark that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end.

Perfectly Honest
Revisado: 07-07-10
This short story is grand. It's honest and more sincere than the Hollywood Love story starring Brad Pitt. It was well worth the short time listening to it, even though the narrator is promoting his podcast and struggles with character voices but slowly getting past that, enjoyable and interesting read.
Highly recommend this short story!

Skate, not as in ice skating
Revisado: 07-07-10
Narrated by Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy/TV's Skins) he provides us with a rich narration of a typical novel.
I didn't enjoy the overall plot and character, it dragged on and after the new twist (to make the novel edgy) it felt more one dimensional.
Certain parts intrigued me, as did the first part of the novel. Then the main character tries to make both himself and the rest of the characters correct and flawed at the same time.
