The story begins in the late 1800s with a pioneer family in Idaho. And this is interwoven with a contemporary story of a businesswoman looking for romance. these two plot lines are linked mysteriously, and slowly converge. it's a lot of fun to see how they unfold. it's also a heartwarming romance, and a tale of how connecting to our ancestral roots is a source of life. an excellent debut novel!

Simon gives an excellent performance

The characters are awesome. Clive really makes this story come alive, a hero you can root for, and Simon makes the characters nuanced and memorable. My first litRPG, and I loved it!

Such a fun epilogue to the Starcraft 2 trilogy!

I'm obsessed with Starcraft right now. Still. And this helped fill the gap after Blizzard left us high and dry. Well done, Zahn. You created some memorable characters and an interesting plot! Loved it!

this is an excellent book for any job searcher. he's all about efficiency. there's also a strong emphasis on treating people right and then benefitting from that karma.

wow, I loved this book.

I love the archetypes and how he makes the real world into a fight between Good and Evil. I loved his pen of light segment at the end, and how he basically encourages you to be a hero and to quest for truth and to seek to spread goodness throughout your life, and to the whole world. it's a very uplifting and encouraging book. it's also heartfelt. he tells a heartbreaking story of the suffering his daughter went through with child arthritis. He also tells the story of a friend of his who committed suicide. There are several of these deeply personal, authentic, vulnerable moments. And I think that's an essential skill for a good writer. as for the narration, he doesn't excellent job. And I especially like the parts where he gets emotional, and you can tell he's struggling a little to keep performing. That's another aspect that is deeply personal. in short, I loved this book. Now the question is, which of my top 10 books am I going to remove to put this on the list?

after the first half, it started feeling tedious. I probably should've given myself a break. it has a lot of good advice, so I shouldn't knock it too hard.

Reminds me of a Dan Brown novel.

Love the high concept of a Sky Fall event. This is strengthened by the chapter epigraphs. It reads a bit like a serial, somewhat episodic in its plot. Also, the idea of the Nephilim is cool (though I didn't love that the little girl joined in). A few memorable characters too, primarily Alice. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
