Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Amazing story
Revisado: 07-10-24
when I first started listening to this, the only thing that stood out was the profound articulation of the reader. it was annoying. but once I got beyond that and into the story, I was intrigued. mystery, romance, murder, abuse, so much filling this story. I just think another narrator would have been better.

Historia
One minute, sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird is a normal teenager dealing with everyday high school stress: her cute boyfriend Heath, the school's star quarterback who suddenly seems more interested in partying than playing ball; her nosy frenemy Kayla, who's way too concerned with how things are going with Heath; her uber-tough geometry test tomorrow. The next, she's Marked as a fledgling vampyre, forcing her to leave her ordinary life behind and join the House of Night, a boarding school where she will train to become an adult vampyre.

teenage vamps
Revisado: 12-23-23
A cross between twilight and vampire Academy.
This book surpbasically kept me interested. Zoe redbird has been marked and is a fledgling vampire. She has to go to the house of night which is a school for fleduling vampires. There is typical teenage behaviors drinking drugsex. And girls who don't get along. It's fictionall fluff but it kept me interested enough that I may choose to read the rest of the series

Historia
Swift's allegorical satire about religion and politics follows the lives of three brothers, Martin, Peter, and Jack, each of who represents a faction of the Christian faith - Anglicanism, Roman Catholicism, and the dissenting faiths, respectively. Each brother inherits a coat (representing religious practice) from their father (God) on the condition that they do not change it. But instead the three quarrelsome youths disobey their father and change their coats beyond recognition.

Where's the satire?
Revisado: 11-28-23
if you are a Latin, philosophy scholar then maybe this work will interest you and you will understand it. I find some literature to be enjoyable and sometimes challenging, but this one went way above and beyond my level of intellect. Swift was indeed a very smart man.

Trainwreck
Revisado: 11-15-23
In a way I feel sorry for Matthew Perry. I don't think he was ever truly happy in his life. I think he looked for some sort of appreciation from his family and never got what he wanted. so he drown his pain with drugs and alcohol. Then he built up a fear of not being good enough for anyone and going through life alone.
is that what finally killed him? or maybe his body had been through so much trauma that it finally just shut down.
Chandler Bing has always been my favorite friend because I can relate to him.
Matthew was brave to come out and tell his story. too bad it didn't have a happy ending.

Not worth all the hype
Revisado: 09-03-23
I heard and read so many raving reviews for this book that I had to see what all the hype was about. I was highly disappointed. don't get me wrong, the book has some good qualities, but overall I was bored. in fact, I abandoned this book for a week.
the action was good, but what was the premise?

Drugs drugs drugs
Revisado: 10-19-22
Flea tells his early childhood story in this book and explains his broken home and his mother's alcoholism.
After her second relationship, Flea discovers his passion for great jazz music and plays the trumpet in school. by the time he was 12, he was hitting the drugs hard core and playing bass for punk rock bands.
His story is littered with the names of actors and musicians as well as the many drugs that passed through his system. he's lucky to be alive and free from HIV.
the story is a little disjointed since he talks about friends who have passed away bit then prises them in the next chapter.
A good book for those who think drugs are cool and need a true wake up call.

The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. Revisado: 12-02-21
Very lengthy and dry. Too much unnecessary material but it is SK. Another novel of his that brings politics into light and shows King's dislike for Trump. Not his best work.

A year after serial killer Michael Rhodes is executed and allowed to donate part of his brain as an organ transplant, Wade gets called to a murder scene that shares uncanny similarities to those of the late Michael Rhodes. Other similar killings happen around Seattle, and Wade seems to be the only person still alive who knows enough about Michael Rhodes’s murders to be able to replicate them. When evidence found at one of the crime scenes points to Wade as the killer, he races to find the real culprit before it’s too late to clear his own name.

I was upset thinking I had figured this whole thing out in the first 5 minutes of this story, but found out differently. A few last minute twists that made my jaw drop sent this book to 5 stars. great plot with suspense and shock.
