Good detail turn of century mystery
Revisado: 08-25-24
I love the details of the writer. I find myself getting lost in the book. The story slowed a bit at times but at the end those slower parts became relevant. All in all a good listen

Disappointed-not his best
Revisado: 11-07-20
Not a Peter Grant storyline but still about a magic practitioner cop. The story felt rushed as if Mr Aaronovitch had to meet the deadline for publishing. There could have been so much more development since the story had new characters and was set in a different country. I hope the next one reverts to Mr Aaronovitchs genius character development.

So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Best book I’ve read in a long time!
Revisado: 07-13-19
Don’t be swayed by the pseudo southern accent and slow speech of the reader. Stick with it to the end. This book is absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to everyone!

A great short listen
Revisado: 04-24-19
I found this YA book interesting and a great listen for something that was a good filler. I was between books and needed something short for a flight. I usually listen to murder & mystery so this was a welcome change. I will recommend to my middle school daughter and would listen to others in this series.

Interesting perspective
Revisado: 04-08-19
This book left me wanting more. I was intrigued to learn about Madame Curie early beginnings. Even though fictionalized I wanted more at the end. The book ended only at the beginning of her career. I love the performance and It held my interest. This is the reason for four Stars. I would certainly listen to the remainder of the book if it existed.

I found my self between books and chose this for my commute home. Funny & witty. Wasn’t sure I would like the story after the first scene but couldn’t stop listening! You just have to live in the moment.

Wonderfully engaging
Revisado: 03-19-18
Absolutely couldn’t put this down! Read The Persimmon Tree and couldn’t wait to see how the lives of Nick and Anna turned out so bought this sequel- although it could be read independently and would be just as good. A little too much sexual content for my liking but read beyond this to the true story.

I enjoyed these pulp fiction mysteries. Jack and Sarah make a fun team! Not too deep or involved. Short stories with enough length to feel like a full length novel.
