Historia
“The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why.” But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it’s different. A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe.

Historia
Alexander X and his friends have had stadiums collapse on them and ancient teachers follow them; they have driven cars through buildings and had entire streets blown up around them. They've been chased, beaten, drugged, and nearly sliced in two by falling sheets of glass. And that...was just on Saturday. Now, they must do whatever it takes to escape Elam Khai and flee the country.

Perfect book two that leads right into book 3
Revisado: 02-26-23
I can’t wait for the movie. The way Savio does a series is fantastic without doing what most authors do which is revisit the first book and plod through till everyone catches up. This is so much better enough of small recaps built in naturally and a plot that deepens and pace that grows so that this is on the edge of a YA and adult novel.

Historia
Alexander Grant is a little too good at a few too many things. Two dozen martial arts. Twice that many languages. Chess, the piano, sports, forging excused absences, you name it. He graduated high school top of his class 17 times. Of course, no one knows any of this. Not that he wants to go unnoticed. It’s just safer that way.

Can’t wait for the movie!
Revisado: 02-26-23
In keeping to YA novels this reminds of of the early Harry Potter books and will likely have the same following. Instead of having to build new worlds the author recreates and explores the world through the eyes of a young man whose been a child through much of history.
Alexander’s aging keeps him both mentally and physically at 15 years with the confidence one would amass if dealing with childhood and early teens for thousands of years and yet still being 15. Savio is able to write this with quirk humor and makes it believable. Lots of exposition is needed so the plot is held back slightly in this first book but the humor and character growth make it incredibly entertaining.

Savio at his best!
Revisado: 02-18-23
Seamless, exciting and true to form. Savio makes it worth the wait. With a narrator change that is surprising Ray Porter does well. Narrator needs to slow down in the beginning but has great talent in his dynamic and a wonderful ability to bring the excitement and intrigue to the story. A perfect example of great writing made this third book well worth the wait.

Revisado: 07-29-22
That was the most boring “thriller” ever
The sex was most of the book and I wouldn’t even call it good writing. The ending was so sleepy I was wondering why they were treating it like a surprise. This book was horrible

This was an great surprise I was not expecting it to be as deep and yet smooth as it was. The plot has so much fullness and draws you in to loving each character. I wish the rest of the authors books were this fun and touching

I can’t believe this was free. I wouldn’t have thought so. This is a fantastic wonderful experience with heart wrenching twists and made me glued to it following along. I loved each of these characters from the beginning even Paul

Best Ledger Book EVER!!
Revisado: 07-15-21
I like many have been very curious and somewhat nervous as to how this series was going. From a stellar beginning to one or two in between that almost bores me. I’ve even tried other series by Mayberry and found them either dull or pedantic.
With this book he not only redeems himself but shows why this is his best series!
The plot is great, current and not preachy. It is relevant, nothing gets hacked again (😂)
Every character has their own part and that makes the whole work seamlessly.
I hope this series continues for a very long time
