Good story,
Revisado: 10-07-23
I enjoyed getting to know Geno and his brothers. Learning more about the other family groups and locations expands story narrative, which enriches the entire series. My only issue: solving the murders and motives could have played a bigger part in the story. A lot of inner monolog when conversations and action would have served the same information in a much tighter story. I'd be interested in books about Geno's brothers, the International Riders Council, and Darius. He's a tough nut to crack!

Alas, tis the end.....
Revisado: 12-15-22
Even though a few storylines were left somewhat incomplete, I thoroughly loved this last book. I'm going to miss this series, It's definitely my favorite by this author. The quirky characters, the themes of ethics, the stories of redemption, and family in all its forms, were very well done. I fell in love with this family of outcasts. I felt a kindred with these lonely people trying to belong. A happy ever after that could literally last forever. What's not to love about that.

Well.... what just didn't happen.
Revisado: 09-24-21
I really love the midnight breed series, BUT, I don't understand why these last few books seem more like filler fluff than any advances in the overall plot. I've been waiting for a showdown with the antagonist groups, but none is given. Again. Now we have another enemy with no resolution. Seriously, I would like to read an end of one enemy before another drops. The only bad guy wrap up in the whole series was the experiments producing nefarious breed warriors. Not to mention the lack of fallout issues in this book. Still a good book, but no substance in the shallow plot this time. I'd really like resolution of the situations presented throughout the series, hopefully we will get the details in the next book.

Wow, great audio performance!
Revisado: 04-30-21
I don't often review, but this audio performance was one of the best I've ever heard. Honestly, the story was well written and the voice actors gave a masterful performance. If you like the crime mystery genre this audio play doesn't disappoint. I highly recommend it, and I hope to hear of similar performances in the future.
Very well done.

Historia
Once Donald Trump’s fiercest surrogate, closest confidant, and staunchest defender, Michael Cohen knows where the skeletons are buried. This is the most devastating business and political horror story of the century. As Trump’s lawyer and “fixer”, Cohen not only witnessed firsthand but was also an active participant in the inner workings of Trump’s business empire, political campaign, and presidential administration.

What a story....
Revisado: 09-24-20
It was a good listen, but I have very mixed feelings about the content. I listened with the assumption that Mr. Cohen was truthful to the best of his knowledge. I was appalled, shocked and vindicated in my opinions, but not surprised.
I'm not a fan of Donald Trump, even before he was elected President. I don't feel sympathy for Michael Cohen, the writing was on the wall during his employment with Trump. It's not a stretch to believe both men are capable of the underhanded business practices described in the book. I understand why people are afraid of the retribution Trump could bring down on anyone who crossed him. I don't understand why anyone would want Trump reelected. With all that said, (spoiler alert) the most disappointing incident was the behavior of the FBI when they threatened to indite Laura Cohen to pressure Michael Cohen, there was no evidence she was involved with anything.
The book was well written and narrated. It is worth the credit if one is interested in the subject matter, but expect to feel slimey at the end.

Loved the story, couldn't listen to it though
Revisado: 07-11-20
The story is great, I enjoy Lexi Blake and was interested in this trilogy after the characters were introduced in the Masters and Mercenaries series. Really tried to like the audio version, but they used a different narrator for this than in the parent series. I got to chapter 7 and couldn't take it a anymore. Ms. Shawnee's tone of voice sounded like a librarian reading to kindergartners. Not appropriate for a Lexi Blake book. I'm sure she would be perfect for comedy, satire, or tongue in cheek stories, but NOT in this genre. I'm finishing the book by actually reading it.

Story Still Intriguing
Revisado: 06-22-19
I am enjoying the continuation of the series; I just wish the original narrator would have continued with the new point of view books. It's a little disconcerting to associate new voices with fimilar characters. I like that we are getting the continuation stories of the men important to Brie's central character, along with their prospectives.

Surprisingly Good.
Revisado: 03-01-19
I'm a big fan of the Immortals After Dark series, but I haven't read or listened to any of K. Cole's other books, so I gave this a try ( all 3 parts). This series is every bit as engaging as the Immortals books. Oh, and the narrator for this story is by far my new favorite. Her narration really made all the characters come alive, and her Russian accent makes you think you are actually listening to a Russian man. I recommend this title to any romance fan. The only thing I didn't like was the 3 parts of a book that should have 1 full book. Great story.

At first I didn't think I would like it, but after the first few chapters I couldn't stop listening. Brown's clever plot twists and insightful prose combined with Reynold's masterful oral interpretation made for an engrossing story. Looking forward to more from both!
