Fun series
Revisado: 02-24-23
The narration is pretty good, and the stories, as told through the characters’ correspondence, have a fair amount of lighthearted humor.

Historia
I'm cursed. At least when it comes to finding Mr. Right. I'm tired of men that only want one-night stands or blind dates that are nothing but awkward and uncomfortable. I'm tired of avoiding inappropriate text messages and the constant disappointment of always meeting Mr. Wrong. I'm shy and picky and cursed. Definitely cursed. So I've decided I'm going to have to try harder to avoid Ezra Baptiste. If I couldn't hack it in the kiddy pool of dating, I certainly can't swim in his deep end. He's too successful. Too intense. He's all man when I'm used to nothing but boys.

Audio version highlights the book’s flaws
Revisado: 06-22-22
I’d read this book previously and enjoyed it, so I thought it would be a good listen. Unfortunately, audio as a format forces you to pay more attention and not gloss over parts. Was the heroine in the print version whiny and sophomoric? Yeah, probably to some degree, but you get to speed past the repetitive dithering and “poor unappreciated me” stuff.
I think the narrator could have rescued the
character with a crisper delivery, maybe, but I don’t think her interpretation was at all inaccurate given the text. The problem is that the result is low grade irritating. The male character also comes across as unaccountably admiring and bland. Same issue - interesting in the book, surprisingly ‘meh’ in audio.

Historia
The Golden State Warriors dominated the NBA for the better part of a decade. Since the arrival of owner Joe Lacob, they won more championships and sold more merchandise than any other franchise in the sport. And in 2019, they opened the doors on a lavish new stadium. Yet all this success contained some of the seeds of decline. Ethan Sherwood Strauss' clear-eyed exposé reveals the team's culture, its financial ambitions and struggles, and the price that its players and managers have paid for all their winning.

The audio version of this was terrific
Revisado: 04-27-20
There are lots of interesting anecdotes, and the overall themes and observations about business, sports culture and human nature are really thought provoking. I loved the pacing of the audio version which gives one a chance to mull over connections between the various individuals... and the accents were great :)
