Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Haunted House Mystery, Couldn't Stop Listening
Revisado: 04-17-25
My favorite thing if all things is a haunted house story. This book checked all my boxes. Haunted house, past mysteried, single woman alone in the house with flash backs to her families time there, multiple suspects. Narrator was fantastic. Loved every second. My first book by this author so now I'll be trying another!

Everyone has heard the story of the Narrow. The river that runs behind the Atwood School is only a few feet across and seemingly placid, but beneath the surface, the waters are deep and vicious. It’s said that no one who has fallen in has ever survived. Eden White knows that isn’t true. Six years ago, she saw Delphine Fournier fall into the Narrow—and live.

Intriguing Story- Loved It
Revisado: 11-18-24
Grear story. Narrator was great. Not scary(but it takes a lot to scare me) Felt even though with scary elements it was deeper- more about acceptance and love and sacrifice.

Historia
When Jess and Clare Martin move from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to their former college town in the Hudson River valley, they are hoping for rejuvenation - of their marriage, their savings, and Jess' writing career. They take a caretaker's job at Riven House, a crumbling estate and the home of their old college writing professor. While Clare once had dreams of being a writer, those plans fell by the wayside when Jess made a big, splashy literary debut in their 20s. It's been years now since his first novel.

Historia
Ghosts don't exist in our world of today. Life is too pragmatic, too consuming, too busy for past lives to linger on longer than their allotted time, or so Halcyon had believed, until she received a letter from a lawyer claiming that her mother, whom she had thought long dead, had actually been living in another part of the country since Halcyon's early childhood. She had only recently passed away, leaving Halcyon heir to an unexpected fortune and an estate on an isolated island in the middle of the Great Lakes.

Binge-Listened to Another of Her Masterful Books
Revisado: 08-20-24
I can't say enough about how much I love the stories this author writes. Similar themes of castle like houses, ghosts, family mystery and surprise endings intertwined with stories from the past. Masterful writing sucks me in and vivid dark images she writes that gives you the creeps. A little touch of romance and main characters you wish you were. AMAZING

Starts Slow- Hang in There; GREAT Story
Revisado: 08-11-24
I love this author; so even though it started out slow I hung I hung in there. SO glad I did. It begins with the main character narrating alone for quite some time. Very descriptive and I didn't know how I could listen that way for the length of the book. BUT it gets really good. Like amazing. loved it.
