Don’t waste your time. You can get all the most important pieces of information almost anywhere else in a tiny fraction of the time.
This book is like a podcast. You could pull out nuggets of great info… but it’s buried in nonsense.

Do NOT read this book. Read Warren Farrell’s work instead. The book covers an important subject, and was incredibly interesting. There was OBVIOUSLY cherry picked info and blatant twisting of the facts. I could see through this and appreciate how the book was trying to help with men’s issues… until the end. Her advice is LITERALLY to make fun of, bully, SHAME and troll people who disagree with you. I’m a big fan of Brene Brown’s work which largely centers on Shame. To sum it up…shame is NOT effective. Not.at.all. To me…the authors advice at the very end of chapter 8, renders the entire book something that needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. Warren Farrell’s books, such as The Boy Crisis, is VASTLY superior to this book. This book will likely leave you angry and wanting to fight for what you believe in…not WORK for what you believe is right. Farrell’s book offers better info, better analysis, and most importantly—better solutions.

A lot of books like this talk and talk. This book was very direct and informative. I listened to it straight through and there wasn't a sentence i didn't find useful.

Paul Michael Garcia is my new favorite narrator. in fact his narration was the only thing that helped me keep listening. i really struggled to finish this. I had read Hitchcock, about how the original Psycho book was adapted. then i read the original psycho. I LOVED both books and will listen to them again. so when i saw this sequel i was SO EXCITED! It starts like a b horror movie sequal. but that didnt bother me. i actually really enjoyed the begining. but then it pulls an Alien 3. (that's all ill say, so i dont spoil anything.) then goes full on stephen king. bad stephen king. too many side characters. too much pointless back story. randomly bizarre, perverse, and perverted scenes. a convoluted plot. a story that breaks numerous, basic "how to tell a good story" rules. just bad. through all of this, the great narration and entertaining opening chapters convinced me i should stick with it. I hoped there would be a redeeming ending that would make it all worth it. I never guess an ending, but this time i did. in the middle of the book, i briefly guessed an ending, but immediately pushed the thought aside. I thought, "No way the author would do that. it's just too silly..." Then that ending actually happened. PARTS of the ending actually surprised me. however, the final payoff left me angry and wishing i could go back in time and re-read the first book instead. Like i said, this book started good , but pulled an Alien 3. by this, i mean that it moved away from characters and elements i enjoyed about the previous book, and actually ruined a lot of them. There is actually a third (maybe fourth?) book in the psycho series, which i had planned on reading. after this disappointment, i doubt i'll read them.

Some of the stories are unbelievable. All are moving, and most will make you laugh at some point. But the balance of these things makes the book one of the most interesting I've ever read.

A really great and helpful book from start to finish. there is so much to offer in here, especially in the small tips and challenges offered throughout. I've listened to this book twice and I will listen to it many more times.

I have read several other Brian Tracy books and found them highly motivational & extremely helpful. Books like, No Excuses & Time Management are excellent & I've read each of them multiple times. I've read his mini book--21 Tips for time management-- countless times & felt like it helps me more each time I read it. This book, however, was extremely disappointing. He makes several comments about the poor that I found a little offensive. Basically that they are poor because they are lazy, rely on handouts, see themselves as victims, and spend all there time watching television. I don't think this is true. Brian Tracy mentioned in other books, that you shouldn't read anything by someone who writes from their ivory tower. Yet, this is exactly what this book felt like. There ARE SOME good tips on getting smarter but VERY FEW. Other than talking about how amazing he thinks the brain is, he really offers nothing. The book acts and sounds more like a get rich quick book, never really presenting what he says he will in the title. Instead, the majority of the book is almost word for word copies of topics & tips he has covered in other books (mostly the three I mentioned). Not only this, but the book itself repeats countless times. There were instances where I checked to make sure I had not skipped around and was re-listening to segments I had already passed. Overall I would say not to buy this book, especially if you were intrigued by its title. Lean more towards his other books, which I will still continue to listen to.
