Historia
Agatha Raisin’s private detective agency is working flat out on a series of shop burglaries. The break-ins seem to have taken a violent turn when a friend of Agatha’s is murdered during a raid on his shop. Although determined to nail the villains, Agatha still makes time to help Sir Charles Fraith prepare to stage a massive, hugely glamorous, promotional event in the grounds of his ancestral home, Barfield House.

Agatha Raisin Lives!!!
Revisado: 11-04-24
I loved the story!! I was so sad about M.C. Beaton passing but so grateful she allowed R.W. Green to continue the character that I so enjoy. And having Penelope read was the icing on the cake!! A refreshing read with a great story line. Please continue her character and definitely keep Penelope as reader…she really brings the character alive!!
Can’t wait (hopefully) for another installment in the series. Btw, I also am happy with how James and all of the other characters have turned out 😍

Historia
A visit to the local village fete for a spot of fun and relaxation turns into a nightmare for Agatha Raisin when she discovers the body of the local landowner in the woods with an arrow in his chest and trousers round his ankles. Agatha’s old adversary, Detective Chief Inspector Wilkes, declares the death a tragic accident, believing the victim has been hit by a stray arrow from an archery demonstration. Agatha is convinced of foul play, however, and is shocked when Wilkes eventually agrees … with her as his prime murder suspect.

Love Agatha…and Penelope Keith!!
Revisado: 10-28-23
I love Agatha!! Can’t wait for the next book—must keep Penelope, she’s the best. I would like more of Bill…totally miss the sleuthing combo of her and Charles(please bury the hatchet, it was a misunderstanding that never got resolved—I hate that), and even James! They were always showing in perfect time to rescue Agatha!!What happened to Phil and the first office secretary?? Keep Roy and the vicar’s wife—miss their long conversations over sherry😉

Historia
Private detective Agatha Raisin, having recently taken up power-walking, is striding along a path in Mircester Park during her lunch break when she hears a cry for help. Rushing over, she finds an elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Swinburn, in the middle of the green — with the body of an old man lying at their feet.

Revisado: 09-15-23
Enjoyed!!! The ending was sooo satisfying with its turns and twists!! I’m so sorry Mrs Beaton has passed away, but how brilliant of her, and how fortunate for us readers that she groomed her successor author of Agatha Raisin books. I love this series…the storylines, the characters, their relationships, etc. I end one book always looking for the next🥰

Historia
Agatha Raisin is bored. Her detective agency in the Cotswolds is thriving, but she'll scream if she has to deal with another missing cat or dog. Only two things seem to offer potential excitement: Christmas and her ex, James Lacey. This year Agatha is sure that if she invites James to a splendid Christmas dinner, their love will rekindle like a warm Yule log. But that fantasy will have to wait for now.

Please bring back Penelope Keith😔
Revisado: 08-23-23
The storyline was good, but overall it lacked the life and personality that Penelope Keith breathes into the characters through her narration. I will only not skip the next book for fear I will miss out on the continuity of the storyline of the different characters. I am extremely glad that Penelope is back after this next installment.
No offense intended at all to Wanda McCaddon…just a preference of style 😉

When Agatha returns home after a sojourn in the capital, she finds a new woman ensconced in the affections of her attractive bachelor neighbor, James Lacey. The newcomer, Mary Fortune, is superior to Agatha in every way, especially when it comes to gardening. With Carsely Open Day approaching, Agatha longs for some fascinating crime to remind James of her genius for investigation and to distract him from Mary. Soon a series of assaults on the finest gardens is followed by murder when Mary herself is discovered buried upside down in a terracotta pot....

Great book. 2nd time listening. Ian Carmichael is like Agatha Christie’s Hugh Fraser. They both make the authors’ books come alive through their reading. I wish Audible Wouk get all of Wimsey’s books!

EXCELLENT!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!! It was wonderful reading about the Wimseys again…they seemed so real. The narrator was excellent, like Hugh Fraser for Agatha Christie!! Dorothy Sayers would be proud. Can’t wait to hear the next book!!

Historia
Despite the dismal Broadway season, Gunplay continues to draw crowds. A gangland spectacle, it's packed to the gills with action, explosions, and gunfire. In fact, Gunplay is so loud that no one notices the killing of Monte Field. In a sold-out theater, Field is found dead partway through the second act, surrounded by empty seats. The police hold the crowd and call for the one man who can untangle this daring murder: Inspector Richard Queen.

The Roman Hat Mystery
Revisado: 11-15-21
I am a great lover of mysteries, sometimes rereading some of the older ones, ie. Agatha Christie. I used to read the Ellery Queen comic and when I saw free downloads for the books I jumped on it. This was the first…and last. The number of various racial innuendos and comments were horrendous. “The Black taint, poor thing”…referring to a character killing someone to try and hide his drop of negro blood from his potential blue blood in-laws!!! This on top of the story being slow moving, and Inspector Richard Queen making condescending comments to all of his subordinates with affection, as if that made them okay. Lastly him pining for the company of his grown son who he credits for all the brains of solving the case. He was off on some trip, but managed to solve the case from afar. Terrible and archaic…my first and last reading of an Ellery Queen book.
