More murder mystery than erotica now!

Yes, the last in this trilogy has become a "Who dun't", than the over the top erotica the first book was.
Either way, they both had a background story that lead to this final book, much as life has many roads, that lead to the one destination.
I haven't commented on the narrative or the sound effects, but they definitely make these audiobooks a pleasurable experience.

Talk about put the fox amongst the chickens, this is a sexually charged, but also sinister tale, of a man that thinks he has the right to anything or anyone he desires.
Thankfully, he hasn't counted on fate and their own plans for him.

Yes, it's a panty drenched erotic tale of Regency England. So, if this isn't your cup of tea, I suggest this author's work may not be what your after.
On The other hand, if you want the pomp and ceremony, together with swoon worthy scenes of erotica, then ensure your either alone, or equipped with a good pair of headphones. so you don't miss on salacious word of this romp.

Okay, I freely admit I love this author's work, for each new story, comes a unique and intriguing tale, that gets my imagination engaged, and I am swept up into the story as if I am a fly upon the wall, listening and seeing all that is happening.
The atmosphere created, right from the first chapter has the mental link to all those Count Dracula scenarios we have all encountered over our years of media watching. I am not giving the plot away, but to say no vampires make an appearance, may help those that are squeamish to blood sucking.
Finally I have to applaud the total audio effects, and the narrator's ability to create each characters persona, through his vocalizations.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of the titles for this duology.

The Secret Of Studborne Abbey

A young American woman and her mother fall on hard times, so the mother could escape the abusive relationship with the overbearing oil magnate father, who cuts ties with the two.

So, looking to be introduced to local society, the girl seeks the young man's attention, that is the nephew of the local Duke.

An invitation is extended and so the two are moved to the local Manor house, where all is not what is as expected.

A dark and sinister situation is uncovered, mysterious disappearances are explained and true love prevails.

The Lady's Guide to Scandal
Ethan has returned from his archeological dig in the wilds of Peru.

He is intrigued by a young woman, that mistakes him as a thief, and brazenly tries to capture him. Although the misunderstanding is sorted, both are tied together by an early childhood encounter, that neither of them had forgotten., making their later day friendships pale in insignificance compared to the memories of their childhood encounters.
A Christmas party invitation gives them a chance to renew their relationship, although it doesn't always go as planned.

However, a look at each other's formative years, can give an understanding of why each behaves As they do.

#1 Lifting the Veil

Sophie was being dragged around Salem, by her best friend. Last stop was the psychic readings. Although Sophie was not a believer, the reading gave her pause to think. Some of the young lady's revelations were a bit too accurate.
On returning home, life became strange, with premonitions occurring, and then the actual events taking place, just as they previously been displayed.
Her brother, the police chief, had helped out with a part time job, not realizing that this would be the platform to launch Sophie's new found abilities.

#2 Beyond the Veil

The past had come back to haunt them, an incident in Marshall and Jack's high school days is being touted as the reason for former friends being murdered.
Sophie takes the lead, going back to where it all began, to try and find out who was doing the killing.

#3 Veiled Intentions

The Pentagon killer strikes close to home, causing Sophie and Marshall to go under cover in the local covern, as a married couple.
It's drama a the way, as attempt after attempt are made on their lives.

#4 Veiled Threats

We are looking at Amber, Sophie's BF. She is having issues from her past, with someone leaving notes for her all around where she lives.
Then, Amber is informed that her grandmother had gone missing. Sophie demands that the Dixen Security team send someone to find the elderly lady.
It's dramatic and suspenseful, with the usual romantic attraction thrown in.
Another good episode from this author.

She always felt to be less, the only one out of seven children to not have magic.
Then, to be asked to give up their family, so they would have the power of seven practitioners.
He helped her bear it all, although neither of them trusted the other with their hearts.
Tissues will be most likely needed for those that are emotionally involved in a story.

A woman, setting up her own private detective agency, in an area where paranormal beings lived alongside humans.
Unfortunately, the first job she gets, leads into all sorts of strife.
What happens, well, that's best either read, or listened to, as the author intended.
It's an interesting first book into this series.

Interesting family

#1 Skyler:

Luke was a childhood friend, who had moved to New York, and made his fortune.
He had come back to the island to celebrate his birthday, or so that was the story.
Skyler had a crush on Luke since forever! Even though he had asked her out, she felt that was her brother's doing, trying to help with what they thought was a devastating breakup with her ex, so her answer to Luke was no!
However, when the truth comes out, well things were looking up, until someone tried to poison them.
Great mystery story.

#2 Declan

For a guy that was supposed to be able to discern if someone spoke the truth, Declan comes across as one who mistrusts everyone.
Olivia on the other hand appears an open book. Someone that has known the family all her life, and had spent a lot of time around them, it should also mean that the brothers should know what type of girl she is, and what type of life she leads, outside the family situation.
So, in saying all the above, I really are amazed at some of things Declan "unravels" in this episode.

#3 Flynn

Flynn comes across as a player, but then again, he seems to have everyone's back. I believe lots of people wear a mask, not truly revealing their real personality to the world, but one that will enable them to keep people at a certain distance. Flynn appears as one of these.
However, Mia is clever enough to see the true nature of Flynn.
Interesting episode.

#4 Reed

This guy is definitely a super nerd, with abilities most computer geeks would die for.
However, he has the ability to not only play it on the down low, but capture the girl that makes his dreams come true.
Good read!
