Would you consider the audio edition of Dark Desires After Dusk to be better than the print version?

Yes and No - Though I love paper back, and have every one of the IAD series in paper back, you CAN NOT beat Petkoffs preformances in the audios so far - and this latest reading just proves it!!! He is the ONLY one who should EVER be able to narrate the IAD series. He is very talented, he can turn his voice to any character (though of course being male he can't help but get the female voices a little wrong, but that just adds to the story now). With Kresleys wonderful story writing and Roberts great voices, these books are a MUST HAVE in any ones audio collection!!

Which character – as performed by Robert Petkoff – was your favorite?

In this book - Cadeon is my favourite. Robert makes him sound like Jason Statham with an african accent (and I just LOVE Jason!!).
My favourite audio and paper back book in the IAD series is Lothaire - Robert does a great arrogant/bad guy/lovable hero voice.
My favourite Robert voice in the IAD audio series so far in Roberts voice for Nix - He had a way of making her sound so ditsy yet very intelligent

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You couldn't make a film out of this book without incorporating all of the IAD series...

Any additional comments?

I was all but hyperventilating while downloading this audio book. I was SSSOOOOO excited. I fell in love with the audio book LOTHAIRE when I stumbled upon it one day and haven't been able to put the IAD books or my Ipod down since. You WILL NOT regret purchasing this audio!!!!
Kresley has a wonderful style to her writing, humour, tenderness, seriousness, gore... Everything you could ask for in a paranormal series.
Robert has a fantastic way of bringing out Kresleys characters personalities. He is able to keep the same voices for different characters consistant through out the series so far. He is an absolute delight to listen to.
And with the Kresley/Robert mix I have cried, laughted and hung onto every word to the very end.
I love these books and can't wait for the next ones, from either Kresley or Robert.

Any additional comments?

OK. I get that yes a turned vampire might have issues about being seen as a "monster", and I can understand that any woman would see a vampire as a "monster". But just as I think these two individuals have come to terms with the whole vampire thing, one of them runs away... and then the pleading starts... "Please don't send me away".. "Please don't leave me".... By the end of this book I just wanted to scream "Just seperate for good and be done with it will you!!!"....
and if that damned vampire/narrator said "Rhianna" one more time..... God help me.
And the narrator made Rhianna sound like a whining little brat.
I was fair though, and listened to the end... but never again.

Would you listen to Immortals: The Calling again? Why?

Yes... great story line.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The dragon shapeshifter.... can't think of his name :)

Have you listened to any of Rebecca Cook’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She's just great, her male voices are smoky and sound masculine.

Any additional comments?

When you thought the book was over, it kept going. Loved it!

Where does Lothaire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It has just made a giant leap to top of the list on my iPod

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lothaire?

To many to mention

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does an absolutely brilliant job of Lothaire the character (unfortunately being a male his female voices are a little off but forgivable). I think Robert really enjoyed reading this book, which made it a great story to listen too.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Twilight + Lord of the Rings + Exocist = Lothaire

Any additional comments?

A few laughs, at voices plus dialogue. Just loved the book... Will be buying a hard copy too.

Any additional comments?

Was all going well, liked the story line, liked the narrator, then the author had to put in a scene where the hero cheats on the heroine, and she takes it lying down. Would have liked to see the heroine with a little more back bone, then simply just dismissing the fact that he'd gotten another woman pregnant, after the hero and heroine found there true feelings for eachother. I listened to the whole book, but after that scene I felt disappointed at the end. Never got my warm fuzzy feeling I get from these romance novels, you know, the happily ever after. I was left feeling he was a cheating a**e and she was a dumb idiot, and the relationship wouldn't last. Sorry, just not my idea of a romance novel.

Any additional comments?

I purchased Book 1 - Blood and Fire - and reviewed it. What I said for that book, applies to this one. To short, to crammed, not enough information and explanation and character exploration. Did enjoy the story line though, and the narrator is a hoot, even if this voice is a little (no a lot) to old for the characters.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Loved the story line, but felt the author crammed to much in. Story was just to short, so is Book 2 - Blood Curse. I was left feeling like I was listening to an excerpt not a full story, and feel that I should been now waiting for the full, extended version to be released. It's Mills and Boons short, when it should be dictionary thick.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting part of the story, was there wasn't one. The sexy hero never explores his gift of confuring fire (except that it turns his lover on - not sure what ever God gave him that gift ment for him to only use it in bed).

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alexander Thrait?

Alexander did a great job, only problem was his voice is just to old for the characters, and he can't do accents. But hearing an older man read out sex scenes does bring a smile to your face :)

Do you think Blood and Fire needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, Blood and Fire and it's second book - Blood Curse - do not need a second book. They need to be merged and extended to incorporate more detail and understanding of characters.
