Historia
Stuck in a dungeon meticulously designed to ruin their lives in the most entertaining way possible, Jack and his best friend, Hannah, are outnumbered and outmatched by monsters with questionable ethics. Jack knows he should be fighting for his life, but where’s the fun in that? Instead, he’s decided to charm the dungeon’s nastiest creatures, turning enemies into reluctant allies, and allies… let’s just say things get complicated.

If you enjoyed the first one you will love this. The book fleshes out Jack and Hanna's relationship and reveals why Jack is the way he is. Lots of action and character development

Historia
Felix has survived the tribulations of the Void and returned to the Continent. Civilization, at long last. Yet the city of Haarwatch has a terrible new issue. The Inquisition has arrived to stamp out sorcery and unnatural monstrosities...and Felix still has the Primordial Maw riding shotgun in his soul. Now, he must find his friends and a way to remove a section of his very essence before everything comes crashing down. All the while, sinister plots in Haarwatch's center promise dire, bloody consequences for anyone who catches the Inquisition’s eye.

A solid adventure usually tropes with a couple of blemishes.

The main character is fine typical LITRPG protag… The music based magic system is exiting and creative. Character interactions are stiff and feel unnatural. For the life of me I don’t know how this world is populated, literally every couple the MC interacts with is gay or lesbian, like even the goddesses in the lore lol. It doesn’t really matter much to the story, the saturation of over representation does become noticeable.

Historia
Inheriting your uncle's supervillain business is more complicated than you might think. Particularly when you discover who's running the place. Charlie's life is going nowhere fast. A divorced substitute teacher living with his cat in a house his siblings want to sell, all he wants is to open a pub downtown, if only the bank will approve his loan. Then his long-lost uncle Jake dies and leaves his supervillain business (complete with island volcano lair) to Charlie. But becoming a supervillain isn't all giant laser death rays and lava pits.

It’s a mess of superficial ideas jumbled together, so that the author can tell us he likes cats…
Revisado: 11-02-23
Nothing in this book lands right. The protagonist is a door mat of a looser that has inexplicable moments of competence that are incongruous to the situation we find him in, in the beginning. The ending tries to do a clever twist reveal that only succeeds in diminishing all the character development of the protagonist. Any illusion of self respect and competence gained by the protagonist is stripped from him, but hey he does have some psychopathy to work on now… It’s fine because his cat got him a bar and a house… some great ideas that could have been exceptional that disappoint in poor execution.
