Historia
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

Started out fine. Was amusing and like The Wonk character. But it descended into a dark world that I found extremely unpleasant, not funny at all.

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

With his trademark mirth and boundless charisma, actor Nick Offerman brought the loveable shenanigans of Twain's adolescent hero to life in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Now, in yet another virtuosic performance, the actor proves that despite being separated by a span of over a century, his connection to the author and his work is undeniable and that theirs is a timeless collaboration that should not be missed.

Engrossing, compelling, funny
Revisado: 08-18-22
There was something alluring about Offerman’s performance. Almost deadpan, but it conjured the characters perfectly. I didn’t realize how funny Twain was. Especially compelling juxtaposed with the realities of life in the middle ages. Insight into human nature from a time-based historical perspective. Twain had tremendous creativity in thinking this up. Clever solutions and strategies. Held my attention 100%. Going to check up on other Twains i have missed!

Historia
The case seems so simple that Inspector Morse deems it beneath his notice. A wealthy, elderly American tourist has a heart attack in her room at Oxford’s luxurious Randolph Hotel. Missing from the scene is the lady’s handbag, which contained the Wolvercote Tongue, a priceless jewel that her late husband had bequeathed to the Ashmolean Museum just across the street. Morse proceeds to spend a great deal of time thinking—and drinking—in the hotel’s bar, certain the solution is close at hand, until conflicting stories, suspicious doings, and a real murder convince him otherwise.

Brilliant narration for a great story
Revisado: 06-30-21
Morse and Lewis are brought vividly alive in this outstanding narration of this fantastic Inspector Morse story. Listening to Davidson, Morse and Lewis sound absolutely true to character. Each voice capturing the ver essence of their portrayals in the series. I listened as much for this, relishing the subtle inflections and humor ad much ad the story itself. Now i seek out everything else Davidson has narrated. Just brilliant!

Historia
Having long since replaced humans in the back hallways and servants' quarters of the ultra-wealthy, new models are acquired, render their service, then are quietly deactivated when obsolete. But then we gave them the ability to learn. One household is about to find out that, while Asimov's laws are immutable, humans are about to experience an uprising of a different sort. This first, surprisingly heartfelt episode of a new series puts the listener in the shoes of the the soulless who serve.

good story but the overt sexism a GIANT turnoff
Revisado: 01-09-21
I love robot stories so I checked this out. The characters and narration and story are good, but the good-ole-boy sexism is outrageously outdated. It is as though the authors never even considered that women might read this story. It is so degrading and defiling to the concepts of female identity and sex that it is truly stunning to think any legitimate author would think it appropriate to take that tone for a story that is supposed to be set far into the future. Awareness of female oppression, and the oppression of any group of people, for that matter, has grown tremendously even in the last few years. There is no reason to think that this awareness will backslide, rather than progress.
The narration is excellent, however, and I like the story. Every passage containing these misogynist assaults is painful to me, however.
AND IT IS TOTALLY UNNECCESARY.
Plenty can be written to describe a sex bot as attractive, sexy etc. without stopping to what amounts to abuse.
