Historia
On New Year’s Day, Shetland lies buried beneath a deep layer of snow. Trudging home, Fran Hunter's eye is drawn to a vivid splash of colour on the white ground, ravens circling above. It is the strangled body of her teenage neighbour. As Fran opens her mouth to scream, the ravens continue their deadly dance. The body is found close to the home of a lonely outcast and local suspicion falls firmly on him. But when Inspector Jimmy Perez insists on broadening the search for suspects, a veil of distrust and fear is thrown over the entire community.

Historia
“I’m sorry but the answer’s no.” Reluctant author, Anthony Horowitz, has had enough. He tells ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne that after three books he’s splitting and their deal is over. The truth is that Anthony has other things on his mind. His new play, a thriller called Mindgame, is about to open at the Vaudeville Theater in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, Hawthorne declines a ticket to the opening night. The play is panned by the critics. In particular, Sunday Times critic Margaret Throsby gives it a savage review, focusing particularly on the writing.

Love it
Revisado: 11-22-22
This is so far my favourite Hawthorne Investigates. Love to read/hear more of it. The story used a similar trick in one of Agatha Christie works. But still, it was a fun journey. Kinnear’s performance is perfect as always. Please please please do not change the narrator under all circumstances.

Interesting story
Revisado: 04-03-22
The story is interesting, and I love Wendell’s voice. But Peter’s voice is weird. That was a put off.

Historia
There is a wild man who lives in the deep quiet of Greenhollow, and he listens to the wood. Tobias, tethered to the forest, does not dwell on his past life, but he lives a perfectly unremarkable existence with his cottage, his cat, and his dryads. When Greenhollow Hall acquires a handsome, intensely curious new owner in Henry Silver, everything changes. Old secrets better left buried are dug up, and Tobias is forced to reckon with his troubled past - both the green magic of the woods and the dark things that rest in its heart.

Such a gentle and beautiful story
Revisado: 03-30-22
At first, I thought the story would be ended with a sad note, but then the author turned it around with such gentleness and thoughtfulness, I simply adored it.

Historia
Robin Loxleigh and his sister Marianne are the hit of the Season, so attractive and delightful that nobody looks behind their pretty faces. Until Robin sets his sights on Sir John Hartlebury's heiress niece. The notoriously graceless baronet isn't impressed by good looks, or fooled by false charm. He's sure Robin is a liar - a fortune hunter, a card sharp, and a heartless, greedy fraud - and he'll protect his niece, whatever it takes.

1/2
Revisado: 02-20-22
The Narrator did an excellent job with Robin's voice, but Hart's voice was way too malicious for my taste. I almost quit and thought to return the book. The 2nd half did get better, when Hart was less angry.

Historia
Lavinia's annual Masked Ball at Mydworth Manor is a highlight of the season, as locals mingle with the great and famous from London. But the lavish party comes to a full stop when one of the guests is found dead down by the lake. It seems it's a clear case of a heart attack. But Harry and Kat suspect that the dead man in a mask was in fact the victim of a clever case of murder. And the killer's work at the party is not yet done... Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Love story with a short murder case
Revisado: 02-15-17
The murder itself is very simple. 80% of the book is spent on the relationship among the 3 main characters. Kind of bored by it. But the narrater did a great job. She's the only reason that kept me finishing the book.
