graphic descriptions of genocide and atrocities
Revisado: 07-24-24
Just fyi the genocide descriptions are very long and graphic. I couldn’t stomach it. The setting and characters were fine, lots of complexity but also abusive behavior. I was just hoping for something less stressful to read, but I understand that it’s about a war. Not sure what I expected but I draw the line at barrels full of dead babies.

Sex, money, religion...all topics that we’re told to avoid in polite company. But exactly the kind of conversations you should be having with your bestie, according to best friends of more than 20 years, Mae Martin (Feel Good) and Sabrina Jalees (Roast Battle). Romantic couples are often guided through the conversations they should be having before committing to each other–but what are the topics that best friends should be covering to truly get to know each other?

Fantastic adventure for Princexes
Revisado: 04-23-24
Great successor to the Ancillary series. I wasn’t sure when it first came out if I would enjoy it like I did the first series, since it’s primarily focused on new characters and I really liked Breq. Glad I gave it a chance! It’s great to see the same setting from other perspectives. (I’m they so I appreciated sie and e and he. And they.)

On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest. Once, she was the Justice of Toren - a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy. One of the best sci-fi stories I’ve read lately, but divisive for the bumble chumps I guess. If you just want to yeehaw through life without experiencing different cultures and perspectives, maybe try something else

Historia
My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me. So begins a tale told from his own point of view - a story unequaled in fantasy literature. Now in The Wise Man’s Fear, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicle, Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.

Really, read literally anything else. This book is meandering and pointless, full of toxic spew.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Simply awful
Revisado: 02-19-23
I unfortunately didn’t read good reviews before buying this book and its sequel, and was stuck with them on a trip. It’s like bad roleplay between poorly read tweens. Flat characters, boring setting, etc
