I love his D6 short story series, almost more then the main book series. They never disappoint! Each one light hearted and full of non stop humor! If you haven't bought this book yet, do it now! If your new to the series, what are you doing reading this? Go get Critical Failures 1 and start reading!!

I have read through most of the Artificer series, and this story line might be my favorite. I honestly have been enjoying this book more then the latest delvers books. Author does a great job of creating likeable characters with realistic goals and skills, and does it all without using romance as a crutch. Love it!

Also if you want to listen to the origin short story, you can find it on Sound Booth Theater's website. There is a collection of short stories for $8? But it isn't on Audible for some reason.

An interesting read

A fun origin/sequel to the Doom Sayers Journey, or at least about Handon Strike. Only complaint was it felt really short and felt like there could have been more to the story.

Narriator didn't even listen to the last books

Changing the narriator mid series never works, but for this book it almost did. Except she did not even bother listening to the other books and pronounces the other characters names wrong. Come on guys... how did this make it to release?

I am expecting more from the next one. I love this series, but I may give up on it if Oliver isn't reading the next one. He reads the series exactly like it needs to be. Like some type of old pulp fiction style witty action movie.

Not the best book in the series by a long shot

Dont split the party. These are words to live by, and for good reason. CF lacks a lot when the main characters dont get a chance to interact with each other as a general party.

Also the ending was super disappointing. I am growing tired of these books ending on cliff hangers. It wouldn't kill you to write a ending that closes out a story rather than making me feel like I just bought a half completed story. I am starting to feel like RB is taking his writing model from EA and Ubisofts video games. Sell the consumer a half finished product so they have to keep buying more if they want to get closure.

Never the less, S5S saved this for me. Another amazingly produced audiobook, in a series that I will continue to buy.

Basically a collection of short stories.

i was sorta bummed about the overall plot, but still a good listen! If you get this, I would expect to be getting a collection of short stories. Even more than what Grunge was.

I want more Tom Stranger! Adams performance was on point from the begining, and the humor, though topical, was still pretty great. I sorta wish he would stay off of political humor though.
