Historia
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) has been successfully applied in almost every area of human endeavor. And while Eli Goldratt is indeed a scientist, an educator and a business leader, he is first and foremost a philosopher. He is a thinker who provokes others to do the same. Dr. Goldratt exhorts his readers to examine and reassess their lives and business practices by cultivating a different perspective. In his latest book, The Choice, Goldratt once again presents his thought provoking approach.

Another great Goldratt book
Revisado: 07-04-23
Goldratt's philosophy and principles for life are presented in this book. There are two boring chapters with analysis reports, but most content is very interesting and the main ideas are fantastic.

The audiobook is full of wisdom for programmers, presented in clear concepts, good examples and great practical tips. The performance is easy to follow even for a non native English speaker.

Great story, but strong accent
Revisado: 08-26-20
The narrator is good, but his British accent makes it a little harder for a non native speaker.
The story is very good and entertaining, with a nice sense of humor and good insights. It is worth reading.

Good content, bad narration
Revisado: 07-03-20
OKR and CFR are great. The book Is full of real examples, great references, and useful insights.
Although it is nice the hear the voice of the real people who used the tools, the narration is the down side of the audiobook. Professional narrators make the listening much more enjoyable.

Life changing ideas and great listening experience
Revisado: 01-30-20
Very recommend book to anyone in IT. The ideas are obviously extremely helpful and applicable to IT operations and development, but the short cicles of learning are also very insightful for research and discovery.
Besides the ideas, the plot is also great and the narration is enjoyable.
This audiobook also includes a introduction to the DevOps Handbook, which is very interesting.

Great content and great listening experience
Revisado: 01-29-20
The book is very worth listening. Like other Goldratt's business novels (e.g. The Goal and Critical Chain) the listening experience is so good that it is hard to interrupt listening.
Different from his other novels (which focus more on his findings in applied contexts), this book focuses on his the thinking process and how to apply it in different contexts, such as enterprise management and personal life conflicts.

Great content, good narration
Revisado: 01-29-20
The content is great for those who like to reevaluate and improve their thinking processes. It is not deep, but has a good coverage.
Some reviews stated that the short length of the audiobook was not worth paying for. I disagree. The content is dense and worth one credit.
The listening experience, although, is just good.
The pace is a little fast (considering the amount of ideas and information per minute) and narration is not as great as other audiobooks narrated by professional narrators.

Historia
Reading this book will make you less sure of yourself - and thats a good thing. In The Invisible Gorilla, Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons, creators of one of psychology's most famous experiments, use remarkable stories and counterintuitive scientific findings to demonstrate an important truth: Our minds dont work the way we think they do. We think we see ourselves and the world as they really are, but were actually missing a whole lot.

Inspiring to revisit the way we think
Revisado: 10-01-19
I was affraid the whole book would talk around the ilusion of attention (which is very interesting, but could get a little repetitive). Fortunately, the authors bring us many other daily illusions, chapter by chapter. All very insightful about our mind processes.
The narrator was good and easy to understand (even for a non native English speaker).

One great concept
Revisado: 08-09-19
The book is good. There are very good insights and the focusing question is fantastic. The book would be great if it didn't appeal so much for motivation and if it didn't repeat some expressions so much (eg extraordinary results). It ends up almost sounding like brainwashing. I still recommend it. It is similar to other "Get Things Done" methods, but innovates with the extrapolation of the Pareto rule, which makes sense. I started using the focusing question on a daily basis.
