Historia
In his third book, Tantric philosopher and Oxford scholar Dr. Christopher Wallis calls out the seemingly helpful spiritual platitudes dominating our current culture and demonstrates how these "near-truths" can stand in the way of a more radically free and meaningful life—and ultimately, a deeper spiritual awakening. Rooted in the Asian wisdom traditions, Wallis’s book uncovers why these oft-heard clichés are “near enemies of the truth" that can distract us from real spirituality, and can even cause unnecessary suffering.

Historia
This fresh perspective on crucial questions of history identifies the root metaphors that cultures have used to construct meaning in their world. It offers a glimpse into the minds of a vast range of different peoples: early hunter-gatherers and farmers, ancient Egyptians, traditional Chinese sages, the founders of Christianity, trailblazers of the Scientific Revolution, and those who constructed our modern consumer society.

A must read
Revisado: 08-10-22
My only gripe with this book is that you have to sit through a zillion hours before we get to some of the ideas that might actually save this little blue green marble we live on. One of the most interesting books I’ve ever listened to!

Historia
Four months have passed since the shadow stone fell into Kell's possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Rhy was wounded and the Dane twins fell, and the stone was cast with Holland's dying body through the rift, and into Black London. In many ways, things have almost returned to normal, though Rhy is more sober, and Kell is now plagued by his guilt.

Steven Crossley what happened?
Revisado: 12-30-20
Seriously miss my equal favourite narrator Steven Crossley (the other being Stephen Fry). Why on earth would you switch to Kate and Michael mid way through? And I wish Kate and Michael would work on a few new accents as it now feels like I'm listening to the same characters from the Braddon Sanderson series you did over again. Honestly keep the same narrator in a series next time please!

Historia
This is a spellbinding tale woven of equal parts epic and myth - with a liberal dash of hard science fiction. When a one-way time tunnel to Earth’s distant past, specifically six million B.C., was discovered by folks on the Galactic Milieu, every misfit for light-years around hurried to pass through it. Each sought his own brand of happiness. But none could have guessed what awaited them. Not even in a million years....

Historia
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's there are few. So begins this most beloved of all American Zen works. Seldom has such a small handful of words provided a teaching as rich as this famous opening line of Shunryu Suzuki's classic. In a single stroke, the simple sentence cuts through the pervasive tendency students have of getting so close to Zen as to completely miss what it's all about. An instant teaching in the first minutes. And that's just the beginning.

This is a beautiful, beautiful Zen teaching I think. It is clear, strong and full of loving kindness. It is very helpful for those that want to understand the simplicity and compassion of Buddhism. This is a book of right practice, strong as the tree and gentle as cherry blossom :)

Lacking kindness wish they would redo this.
Revisado: 11-18-20
Far, far to serious interpretation, lacking soul and compassion in the interpretation. Narration was accurate but sadly felt very egoic. Try Zen mind begginers mind if you want to understand feeling and right practice of Zen. Love it if they remade this audio book with a little more loving kindness.

Stupid that you have to have fifteen more words on the optional description, sheesh.

Stephen Fry is the best narrator on Audible
Revisado: 08-02-20
Its nice to think that in this day and age the art of oral storytelling isn't dead. Realise that Stephen is reading from a book rather than memorising a tale, but absolutely fantastic. I would recommend any audiobook read by Stephen to anyone, absolutely amazingly delivery.
