Exciting read...
Revisado: 08-05-20
In the end, many subplots that appeared to be converging into certain disaster for both hero and heroine implode and leave the reader going WTF??? 'didn't see that coming! And when it comes down to what I consider a good read, that type of development is what I pay for and relish.
Another well done 👏 story by Mr Dickey.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.

Historia
Eric Jerome Dickey strides boldly over the minefield that is modern marriage. The central couple's biggest challenge is timing: He works days; she works nights. Instead of growing together, they're rapidly drifting apart, coexisting on stolen phone calls from work, punctuated by occasional bedroom encounters that leave them both feeling even emptier and more alone. When she finds out about his affair - and starts her own - the delicate fabric of their marriage is torn irrevocably asunder. Or is it?

Definitely not a story that was balanced..
Revisado: 05-28-20
Great story overall but depicted a very self -centered heroine who, although she had the opportunity to do a number of things that could have lead to a more desirable (or at least a much less tragic) outcome, she gave into her baser desire to injure rather than take the high road and be about healing. And in the end, she showed her true colors and all or those hints and outright dire fears/predictions of what she feared she might be evolving into finally began to manifest. Well played Mr. Dickey. The best emotional roller coaster yet, albeit the one heroine I liked the least of all. Keep pushing those buttons!

Another Great book by EJD!
Revisado: 04-29-20
Loved this book, too. Always unusual twists and unexpected turns in the lives of his well-developed characters. The depth and breath of the scenes he paints his creations into are 3D for the mind without being overly descriptive to the point of being distracting. Hard to put down. And I experienced the feeling of being abandoned in the silent void left when this tale ended. Bravo EJD...another well done!

Great Book! Great insights into the human psyche!
Revisado: 04-13-20
Maxwell was a genius. I believe that he observed the same deep-intuitive insight through the lense of Psyco-cybernetics that Milton Erickson discovered using the mirror of Hypnosis.
Fury's commentary throughout this updated edition was insightful and expansive, adding clarity at some points. I read this book when I was 17 and still have the original copy I bought then. I'm 70 now and got a even more from this most recent read.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

Overall, a good book and narration. Sudden, unforeseeable and brigeless transitions from one location the plot/physical location/character to another requires more intense focus by the listener tha most audiobooks.

Historia
The ultimate deep-brain sleep programming mega-kit for high achievers... As you relax and drift into first-stage sleep, the cycle per second of your brain slows down to "Alpha" level. The second level of "Theta" precedes deep "Delta" sleep. "Alpha" and "Delta" are the same levels accessed for hypnosis programming. So sleep programming suggestions delivered at these mental levels are as effective as hypnotic mind programming.

Narration was so irritating I could not get past..
Revisado: 04-26-19
The first few minutes are supposed to get you into a relaxed and receptive state but the fast pace and unnatural phrasing of the words of the narrator were distracting and caused more tension not calming.
In all fairness, the program is over 6 hours long and if I had been able to get through the "relaxing" phase, maybe the rest of the program would have been much better.
I regularly listen to subliminal and regular audible sleep programs. The best I've found are the ones that move at a slower paced and delivered by the better narrators in a more natural conversational tone.
