'Or Struggles.'

Ya'll did not have to call me out that hard.

This study on codependency and breaking out of the pattern was one thing I did not want to hear, but I know I needed to hear.

The author went a long way to describing the types of dependent and codependent relationships that could and will lead codependency outside of what I thought was the only version of codependence. Looking back at my own relationships with not only romantic partners but with my family and relatives made me start to think a bit more about how those relationships effected my later romantic ones and may stick with me when and if I eventually decide to pursue others.

While I felt a little called out, it wasn't in a put down way that I am used to when it comes to pointing out issues within relationships, and the suggestions on breaking a codependency are both logical, if even a little hard, doable.

The narrator gave a lot of depth to the information, avoiding the dry windedness you usually get from a psychological based work, and made it feel as if everything was being said by someone who cared and fully wanted to help with the issue. Like someone who truly wanted to see me do better and well in the relationship journey.

A great and workable afternoon was spent on listening this work, And it has been saved to listen to again as a reminder to avoid falling back into the same abusive patterns and bad habits from both the user and the used perspectives.

As a psych. student I was fully expecting to hear some long winded theory about bpd, with a lot of comparisons to ptsd and bipolar disorder. They are all close to one another in the dsm5 and 6 but this book put a focus on BPD that I have not seen anywhere else.

The Work:
The way the text was lain out actually kept me from getting as confused as I usually do when it comes to learning more about BPD, and allowed me to see it from a outside and inside perspective rather than forcing myself to keep things in my head, it felt as if the lessons on signs and certain stimuli where speaking to me in a way I have never seen before.

It really made me feel better about the outcome of things going on in my life and look into my own fears of abandonment and struggle while also helping me to focus on how things may be effecting those around me, particularly when I get into a bit of a rage from a small inconvenience. Its not something I can control readily, and instead of giving ways of getting people with the same issues to take some sort of medication or 'check themselves in', the work suggests many techniques I feel would have benefited me in my developmental years I wish my parents or grandparents had known.

Audio:
I was so happy to hear a woman narrating this one, especially on Women's Day~ while studying other issues that are suffered mainly by women, it is hard to come across a work actually written and read by them and I really appreciated that.

Most audio books can be stuffy when it comes to psychological and neurological subject matter but this reading left me craving more for the narrator. The way she chose to read reminds me of a story book or a work that us meant to be engaging rather than a run of the mill study.

=
All together, this is an amazing work and I am sure will help a lot of people create a better understanding of BPD in many of its forms and hopefully toss it front and center for more studies that are crucially needed.

A lot of people where leaving some negative comments about the accent and in the beginning I had the same issues. I actually thought about turning it off after a bit but because I was so busy I just let it play.

This story was an emotional roller coaster that I didn't know I wanted to be on. The characters come to life in the narrators voice in a way that I did not expect when I started the novel that morning, and I finished it in a single shift. No matter what I did as soon as I wanted to take my headphones out I needed to put them back in to see how they where going to get out of this issue.

If you thought this was going to go from a story of sadness and abandonment to one of complete acceptance from others or some fairy tale ending... look somewhere else. This realistic view of the world for a young mother with a valuable life skill had more truth to it than any other writing I have found so far. No coddling, just a push in the right direction for someone who deserved it.

I look foreword to more works like this one.

Stoker has looked up from his grave and smiled! Like Dracula himself, he has found final peace with this telling of his greatest work. After searching and searching for the perfect audio book I've finally found one that doesn't make me twitch scream and hold my ears from the furry of voices. Now I have been able to do those things out of love of the story xD I highly reccomend this version of the audio book.
